After a week off for the American Music Awards, Desperate Housewives came back with a bang! As you all remember, the town is recovering for a devastating fire that happened at the nightclub where most of the residents of Fairview were spending their evening. The death toll was up to 7. Let’s see what happened.

WOW! That seems to be all I can say about the most recent episode of Desperate Housewives. Without a doubt, it was the most intense, amazing, insane, suspenseful, etc episode of the season so far! The episode started with a flash-forward to the fire that would happen near the end of the episode. I love when Marc Cherry does this because if for some reason you don’t feel like watching the show - it will definitely change your mind.

I wanted to take this time to sincerely apologize for not having a review for last week. I had every intention to, and then I realized that I had three tests to study for as well as a THRILLING Presidential Election to watch. So to make up for it, I’m going to summarize the two episodes here because each cast member’s story line continued this week from the last. Enjoy, and again, I’m very sorry!

So, each week I hope to make my review better than the last, and I believe that since last night’s episode was so amazing, I’ve done it. I’m writing this one a bit different since half the show shows the characters in the past and the other half shows them in the present. So, here I go!

faye@thetwocentscorp.com

So, Thursday night, I broke my foot. I had to sit on my butt all weekend in front of the television because my bedroom is in the basement, so I couldn’t enjoy my time reading there, or on the computer in there. It was a long weekend, and it made me realize that there is VERY LITTLE on TV. It got me thinking of how grateful I am for Housewives, because it was honestly the only thing that got me through this long weekend. Let’s see…what happened this episode?

As I watched Desperate Housewives last night, I realized that with all the shows I like this season, it’s by far the best that’s come back. Don’t get me wrong…I’m impressed with this season of Heroes and Private Practice, but it’s the Sunday night episode of Housewives that make television full of pleasure. I hope you all agree with me here!

The only way to sum up the premier of the 5th season of Desperate Housewives is to say, “OH MY GOODNESS!” I truly mean it. Every moment of the premier episode had me guessing, shocked, hoping, not breathing, and finally taking sighs of relief. So, let’s get started!! Remember though, we’re 5 years in the future…

"Gilmore Girls" Summer DVD Review - "First Day at Yale"

Gilmore Girls
“The Lorelais’ First Day at Yale”

Original Air Date: September 30, 2003

Faye O, TwoCents Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

Hello again everybody! I hope you all can enjoy the end of your summer the way you should enjoy it. I know that I personally have a few day-trips planned with friends, and babysitting to save money for the trips in the future . But anyways, with summer coming to an end, it reminds me of last summer, around this time, when I moved up to school, and the summer before, when I did the same. This year, I’m going to school locally, but my sister moves away in two weeks. Because of these events that I’m reminded of, or that are coming up, I’ve decided to review “The Lorelas’ First Day at Yale” so I can discuss Rory’s experience moving away from home.

Faye O, TwoCents Reviewer
Faye@thetwocentscorp.com

Greetings Gilmore lovers! I truly hope you’re enjoying my reviews, because I certainly enjoy writing them. This time around, I’m going to write about “Those Are Strings, Pinocchio,” the finale of season 3, and by far, the only episode (besides the finale) that can prove to send me into an emotional roller coaster. I’m going to bullet point this review, because it’s probably going to make it less sloppy.

This episode is, without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite Gilmore Girls episode, EVER. “The Big One” is filled with excitement, angst, wonderment, sadness, and joy. It features a fight involving Paris and it features wonderful cast returns! Basically, I love this episode.

Before I get started-let me apologize to all you readers out there for not having a review last week. Things have been crazy for my family and I was unable to get one out, but don’t worry-the Gilmore reviews will still come out!

“Teach Me Tonight” happens to be one of my favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls for a few reasons. First, it gives a chance for Rory and Jess to get closer, and second, it provides yet another WONDERFUL fight between Luke and Lorelai. I love fights with Luke and Lorelai, they always add so much to the show.

"Gilmore Girls" DVD Review - "Love, Daisies, and Troubadours"

Gilmore Girls
Love, Daisies, and Troubadours

Original Air Date: May 10, 2001

Faye O - TwoCents Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

One of my favorite things about Gilmore Girls is that every single year, there is a great finale. Now, there really has only been one main CLIFFHANGER and that was in season 5, but each finale provides viewers with a sense of future for the characters as well as a sense of closure for the things that happened during the season preceding it. The season 1 finale did just that. In “Love, Daisies, and Troubadours,” the girls are both figuring out some things that they need to deal with, but the entire episode provided a sense of hope for them. I was very pleased by this finale, and I’m not ashamed to say that I did shed a few tears in the process.

"Gilmore Girls" DVD Review - "Christopher Returns"

Gilmore Girls
Christopher Returns

DVD Season 1, Episode 15

Faye O. - TwoCents Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

I remember when I first saw this episode. I had been watching the show with a friend on DVD about 3 years ago and I remember hearing about Christopher but thinking that I’d never see him because a lot of shows do that. They mention someone over and over, but we never get to meet them. When I saw the episode title for “Christopher Returns,” I couldn’t wait! We watched the other episodes on that disc, and at the end of the episode before, “That Damn Donna Reed,” Christopher definitely returned! I remember thinking that he was cute, and the motorcycle thing just threw me over the edge! I couldn’t wait to start the next episode.

"Gilmore Girls" DVD Review - "The Pilot"

Gilmore Girls
Pilot

DVD Season 1

Faye O, TwoCents Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

If I’m going to be reviewing my favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls, it only makes sense to start from the beginning, the first episode, and the episode that started it all - The Pilot. No season is complete without it’s foundation, and Gilmore Girls had a pretty solid foundation for the rest of the series. From when Gilmore Girls aired in October of 2000, to when it ended of May of 2007, the girls were closer than ever (with a few plot-line bumps in the road). The relationship with the Gilmore parents was always rocky. The town was filled with colorful characters. Coffee was a way of life. And the final bit of consistency was love. No matter where it was coming from, there always seemed to be love in the show.

Gilmore Girls - Summer DVD Bookclub

Gilmore Girls
Summer Review Intro

Faye - TwoCents Reviewer
Faye@thetwocentscorp.com

This summer, I’m going to be writing on my favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls. I personally own all 7 seasons on DVD and have watched each episode numerous times. I actually think I watch it too much because there will be times where I will fall asleep during an episode, wake up a few minutes later, and know exactly what went on, who said what, and who was wearing what. I guess that makes me the perfect person to write about the show.

The first episode we'll watch for next week is the Pilot episode!

For those of you who have never seen the show before, or those of you who have and just want a slight refresher, these are the main characters that the show focuses on:

"Desperate Housewives" Season Finale Recap & Review - "The Gun Song" & "Free"

Desperate Housewives
“The Gun Song" & "Free”

Original Air Date: May 18, 2008

Faye O, TwoCents Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

The finale of season 4 of Desperate Housewives was 2 hours long. It was two hours of suspense, two hours of joy, two hours of anger, and the last two minutes of the show have no words to describe the feelings that occur. I fear that the only way to recap this episode is to give you bullet points of main events. No review will ever do this finale justice, but I’m going to do my best to try!

Desperate Housewives
“Mother Said”

Faye O, TwoCents Reviewer

This episode is the one that leads to the season finale, and WOW, what an episode it was! Some of the acting in this episode was a tad awkward, but if you set that aside, it is one of my favorite of the entire season. I’m going to write about the main events in each girl’s storyline again, so enjoy, and I hope you like it!

"Desperate Housewives" Recap & Review - "Opening Doors"

Desperate Housewives

Original Air Date: May 4, 2008

Faye O - TwoCents Reviewer

I’m going to try a little something different with this review, so let me know if you like it better. But before I get started, I have to say that I loved this episode so much! There was comedy, drama, a whole bunch of returning cast members, basically, the episode screamed, “WATCH ME, BECAUSE I AM DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES!” Now, back to what I’m going to do differently: I’m going to highlight the best parts of each of the housewives, all 6 of the main ones (Susan, Bree, Lynette, Gabby, Edie, and Katherine in case you didn’t know where I got that number). So, let’s give it a try.

"Desperate Housewives" Recap & Review - "Hello, Little Girl"

Desperate Housewives
“Hello, Little Girl”

Original Air Date: April 27, 2008

Faye O. - TwoCents Reviewer

Going into this episode, with the preview being what it was, I was expecting something great, and that’s exactly what I got. After the episode that aired last week, honestly, the only way to go was up. From the very beginning when they did the flashbacks for how Lynette knew Tom was lying to the end when Orson is told to leave by Bree, I was hooked to what was going on.
