I’m going to try a little something different with this review, so let me know if you like it better. But before I get started, I have to say that I loved this episode so much! There was comedy, drama, a whole bunch of returning cast members, basically, the episode screamed, “WATCH ME, BECAUSE I AM DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES!” Now, back to what I’m going to do differently: I’m going to highlight the best parts of each of the housewives, all 6 of the main ones (Susan, Bree, Lynette, Gabby, Edie, and Katherine in case you didn’t know where I got that number). So, let’s give it a try.

Susan- Her Lamaze Class scenes were priceless. They also featured the return of Karl, who just so happens to be one of my favorite ex-husbands on the lane. Actually, he’s one of the only that we know well, but still-he’s great. At first, I was turned off by his rude comments toward Susan, but then when they had their heart-to-heart near the end of the episode, I could tell that he still cared deeply for Susan and her well being. It was an awesome dynamic, and I really hope we see more of him in the future.
Bree- I loved the scene that opened with her trying to figure out what belonged to her and what belonged to Orson. I think that her demands for taking Orson back were somewhat reasonable, but at the same time-somewhat unnecessary. We’ll just have to wait to see how that pans out. I’ll discuss more of her once I get the chance to talk about Edie though. They tie in together this time.
Lynette- I believe that the punishment for the boys does not fit the crime whatsoever, but when we find out that Kayla is the one with the idea (another returning cast member who we haven’t seen in a while…but still-WHERE’S PARKER?), I believe that Lynette’s solution to take her to a shrink was the right one, even if Tom doesn’t agree. Kayla is truly disturbed and really does need help.
Gabby- Opening her house to Ellie was not what I expected from the previews, but it wasn’t a SHOCKING piece of plotline. However, I did think the same as Gabby when I saw her getting paid. When Gabby called upon Bob and Lee (MORE RETURNING CAST), I laughed so hard! The lie Ellie told about giving tattoos was also unbelievable to me. I just didn’t expect that it was drugs going on in there.
Edie- Her taking in Orson was so funny. She was very honest up front about Orson not being her type, but when Bree questioned her about it, and accused her of being a slut, I don’t blame her for being upset about it. The kiss between her and Orson was awkward, and I’m also really sick of Orson’s crying fits. They actually make me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Katherine- Dylan’s relationship with her father is weird, and Katherine’s reuniting scene with him was weird as well. There is still something big that they’re hiding. I don’t think it’s just about abuse, there has to be something more. The way she had the drawer open that was holding the gun was very strategic and a good thing for safety. I cannot wait to see what happens with this either.
So, let me know if you like the character-by-character writing style, or if you like the old way better! Also, what did you think of the episode?!?! Leave your TwoCents in the comments! I’ll see you all next week. There are only 2 more weeks until the 2-hour finale, so let’s cherish every moment of it!
Oh, I like this style of recapping! Makes it easier to remember what happened in the episode too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the lamaze class and Karl's "Hey, plumber!" when he saw Mike. An ass if I ever saw one, but the most hilarious ass ever. Hands down, best ex.
I loved Bree giving Katherine tips on how to spy on Dylan. Classic Bree. I hope that ultimately those two stay frenemies.
So, Lynette and Tom need to ship that child of the corn somewhere. She is maniacal! Next, she'll get the boys to suffocate Lynette or something. I understand not wanting to soil your reputation in the neighborhood by admitting your twin boys are arsonists, but come on! Her kids have to learn right from wrong eventually. And maybe it would teach them that just because someone says they should do something, they should do it too.
Edie really does peck at leftovers, but her line to Bree was hilarious: "That would be like having sex with PBS!" Priceless.
Anyway, your recap style totally helped me remember all the things I loved about this ep!
