We've Moved!

Four score and seven years ago, our forefathers set forth on this great....

Ok, so, it wasn't four score ago, heck, I don't even know what four score is. And I'm not exactly a forefather. But I did bring this special site into the world in 2007. Since then, TheTwoCents has gone from a site I created for a class project, to a Pop Culture site written by me and my friends, to what you see today.

The vision of TheTwoCents is very simple. The people who write for this site love TV. The people who read it love TV. TheTwoCents is a place for us to share our thoughts - the chance to give our own TwoCents on topics related to Television and hope that you choose to do the same.

We have over 35 volunteer writers who cover over 60 PrimeTime shows. We write Recaps & Reviews of these shows every week. We write up news items we find interesting and think you would too. We've been able to interview some of the biggest names in television such as: Tina Fey, Jeff Probst, Simon Cowell, Joss Whedon, Rainn Wilson, Jason Lee, American Idols, and Miss Piggy! We bring you exclusives such as our Fall and Holiday Special Preview Guides, Exclusive Interviews, Upfront Announcements, Live Blogs from Television Events, we were in Scranton, PA for The Office Convention and on the front lines of the 2007 Writer's Strike in Hollywood.

We do this all because we love television. We love that for 30 or 60 or 90 or 120 minutes we can escape into another world. Worlds filled with crime fighters, doctors, office employees, smoke monsters, vampires, gangsters, singers, dancers, spaceships, spies, angry chefs, crab boats, survival experts, housewives, time shifters, killers, heroes, and even a football-shape headed baby wanting to take over the world.

So, we are here for you readers. In a new home. If you got here through an old keithp23.blogspot.com link, retype your bookmark to be www.TheTwoCents.com and you'll show up in our new home! It has been built to be more user-friendly. Easy to find information. Easy to read pages. Easy to use lists. But more importantly, we wanted it to be easier for you to share YOUR TwoCents with us!

Every post has a comment section at the bottom. All you have to do is enter your name and email address and your comment and you're a part of the fun! We truly hope you join us as we all enter this new adventure! We plan on having a ton of fun in our new home, and our doors are wide open for you to come join us and do the same!

So, head over to TheTwoCents.com, grab a seat on the couch, we'll make the popcorn, and if you're really nice, we'll even let you hold the remote!

Thank you for reading!!

Most Sincerely,
KP and the entire TheTwoCents Family

The shock didn’t come in the elimination — oh no. It came in who ended up almost being voted off — Adam Lambert. You know, the heir apparent of S8. Fourth. Not first. Not second. Not third. Fourth.

And that’s just not right.

This week, the episode starts out with a ripped from the headlines story that is uncomfortably similar to the Caylee Anthony tragedy. Hilary Duff guest stars as Ashlee Walker, the young mother of baby Sierra who claims she left her baby with a babysitter. Her mother (guest star Gail O’Grady) goes to the Special Victims Unit when she hasn’t seen her granddaughter in days and doesn’t believe the babysitter story.

I was sure I knew who was going home this week. It was obvious who was the worst out of the bunch and I felt like his time had come, and that horse needed to be put down. But it would be reality television if there were no surprises. And no, I don’t mean that Robin Thicke is still culturally relevant.

Are the Doctors Still In?

ABC is in talks to renew the veteran comedy Scrubs for a ninth season. This year, the producers had been looking for a way to keep the show going with new cast members, integrating a new crop of interns, but have yet to confirm if Season Nine is set in stone.

With most original cast members moving on to other projects (Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn, are co-starring on different pilots), it is had to say what characters will be returning full-time, or perhaps in recurring roles.

I never thought I would say this — after all, it’s been a long time since I de-boarded his bandwagon — but Danny Gokey may have pulled off the best performance last night.

Other than that, it was kind of a sleepy night of ballads for Rat Pack Week. The contestants all dressed up in suits and even Allison Iraheta had on a party dress. Anyone notice that Ryan and Kris Allen were almost twins with the same tone gray suit, white shirt and dark tie (only Ryan’s was black while Kris sported blue)? Guess no one else got the memo…

Of course, they weren't actually going out, they were only “friends with benefits” – a situation Sheldon doesn't quite understand. The boys operationally define it for him as maintaining a friendship with someone you have sex with while having the freedom to date, though he still can't grasp the idea.

Harper's Island Moves To Saturday

It looks like Harper's Island is moving to Saturday's at 9:00, starting May 2. According to CBS the ratings have not been that great, but it seems that it has a big DVR following. Here is what Kelly Kahl of CBS had to say:
"The preliminary DVR and online streaming data suggest a passionate audience for HARPER’S outside its current Thursday time period borders,” said Kelly Kahl, Senior Executive Vice President Prime Time, CBS Television. “This move gives us an opportunity to improve the time period on Thursday while experimenting with more original programming on Saturday, and continuing to serve an audience that is clearly engaged in the ongoing HARPER’S ISLAND story.”

Saturdays are known to be where TV likes to dump shows that are not doing well, but I feel confident that no matter what, we are going to get our 13 episodes. I also feel that the main audience is the younger adults who are not really home on Saturday nights, so if they know the majority of the fans are DVR-ing the show, what the heck, why not move it. Us older watchers, that don’t go out much on the weekend, are grateful for something to watch on Saturday.

And while the finale wasn’t picture perfect, it did set us up for the next volume titled ‘Redemption’. This is the last recap until September, so let’s cut to the chase.
