In the first part of the Daniel Faraday Hour of Crying, Desmond and Penny are in Hawking comes to talk to Penny, and tells her she’s to blame for Desmond being shot because of her son, who is not Ben Linus. 30 years earlier, we see Faraday getting out of the submarine and asking Miles to take him to Jack. He tells Jack that they never should have come back, and his mother was wrong. Or was she?

In this week’s installment of Guess Why Kate’s All Sad And Stuff, there was thankfully almost no Kate at all! Instead, Miles was tonight’s focus. In a flashback, we saw little Miles go into an apartment where an old man died because he can hear the man “talking,” which unsurprisingly worries his mother. Current Miles gets paged by Sawyer, who needs him to erase the surveillance tapes that show Ben being taken away.

A guy rides up on a horse, and is mad at Richard for bringing Little Ben into the temple. “Is this Medieval Lost?” my roommate asked, and for a second I was hopeful, but no. Just…no. This episode showed so much promise in last week’s teaser trailer, but I was really underwhelmed. Richard says Jacob wanted him to save Ben, and the guy on the horse turns out to be Widmore. But where did he get the horse? Readers, help me out on this one.

Lost finally stepped up its game a little bit this week, with a surprisingly good Kate-centric episode, and I never thought anything with lots of Kate could be good. Jin, after being karate-chopped by Sayid, wakes up in the jungle because he hears his walkie talkie, and sees that Little Ben has just been shot. He loads him up in the Dharma van, and drives back to see that everyone is preparing for the hostiles to invade. Somehow, Ben’s dad just noticed his kid was missing, and wins the Britney Spears Best Parent Ever trophy from me. Not really, but that would have been an awesome twist.

Lost - Recap & Review - He's Our You

I was hoping for a Lost episode with tons of Ben for my birthday, and I sort of got it. But I also got tons of Sayid, whose crisis of conscience is getting a little old. In a flashback, he killed a chicken for his brother and was praised for it, which is a bit of a character insight. Back in the (sort of) present, Little Ben brings Sayid a chicken salad sandwich, and hopes Sayid will take him to the hostiles. The plot thickens…

This week’s Lost was full of fun surprises. But it started out with a flashback of the six on that plane, and there’s a flash. Frank and his co-pilot have to land the plane on the island, which has a runway for some reason, and they crash. The co-pilot is awesomely impaled, and Frank sees that the only people left on the plane are Sun, Ben, and Cesar and his lady friend. The rest of the Six are gone, so why is Sun still there? As you’ll see, Sun’s got a bit of a journey ahead of her.

Everyone who thought tonight’s Lost was a big heaping bowl of boring, raise your hands! Okay, that’s everyone. Last week’s episode kicked major ass, but this week’s was like normal Lost after a massive dose of tranquilizers. Why? My guess is because there was no Ben this week. If you take the cool, diabolical, interesting guy out of the show, you get an hour of Sawyer yelling. Not cool, Lost.

So, who else reading this column really loves Ben Linus even more after this week’s episode? I may be the only one, but his snappy dressing and cold-blooded evil just give my heart the warm fuzzies. But enough about me. On the island, Cesar, a survivor of the plane the six were on to get back to the island, is looking through an office. A woman comes in, and says they found someone standing in the water dressed up. They go to the beach and we see Locke remove his Darth Vader hood and tell them his name. Locke’s not the Vader here, though, Ben is, and you’ll soon understand why.

Wow. Tonight’s episode was mind-blowing and awesome in so many ways. It was a vast improvement from last week, and was my favorite of the season so far because there was lots of Ben and his witty remarks, which warm my cold heart. “316” started with a shot reminiscent of the pilot episode: A close-up of an eye, which turns out to be Jack’s. He’s in the jungle. Oh, snap.

I can’t think of a more inopportune time to get a phone call from your daughter than when you’re about to kill Ben Linus, and this is the pickle Sun finds herself in at the start of the episode. Sun gets out of the car, points the gun at Ben, and tells him it’s his fault her husband died, and she seems to have forgotten that he didn’t send that freighter on which said husband presumably was blown to bits. Oh well, close enough, I guess. Kate complains about something, though no one is listening because Ben’s just told Sun that Jin is alive. But we knew that already. Though it’s my guess that maybe he’s pulled a Claire, and didn’t really survive that explosion. Just something for you to ponder…

This week’s episode opened with a flashback: Kate and Jack talking on Penny’s boat shortly after leaving the island. Kate decides that she has to say Aaron is hers because she can’t lose him too. By now, you’ve probably guessed that this week, a lot of whiny-Kate action would take place, and you’re sort of right. But there’s a diabolical, if not totally surprising, twist ahead for woe-is-me Kate.

This week’s episode opened with Desmond frantically running through a marketplace, where he asks a man “are you the doctor?” The part of my brain that is devoted exclusively to Doctor Who freaked out a little, but what freaked me out more was the fact that the doctor was for Penny, who was in labor. After about thirty seconds, she gives birth. We learn this is a flashback when we see Desmond telling his son, who looks to be about two, about an island he never thought he’d return to. It’s Great Britain. Needless to say, “Jughead” was the trippiest episode of the season so far.

Hello, TwoCents readers! I’ll be taking over the Lost reviews for our regular reviewer, and I hope I can measure up! Wow, the premiere was jam-packed with information. We’ve all had eight months to perfect our theories, but mine were left in the dust by everything that was crammed into these two episodes. But at least one person thinks he knows what’s happening, and that’s Daniel Faraday.

"Lost" Season Finale Recap & Review - "There's No Place Like Home"

Last night the two hour season finale of “Lost” aired & DAMN did it ever deliver. The writers’ strike had put a lot of doubt in some people as to whether or not this season could set out to finish what the writers/producers had been mapping out since last summer & even if it was different…it was still totally mind blowing.

The episode picked up right where season 3 left off…a scraggly, strung out Jack was begging Kate in the back of LAX to go back to the Island with him. Kate gets in the car & leaves (beginning of new episode…) & then suddenly backs up, gets out of the car & we learned that the mysterious dead guy in the coffin who was “neither friend or family” has a name & it is: Jeremy Bentham.

Part 1

LauraAnn - TwoCents Staff Writer

"LOST" aired last night with the first in the season finale three-parter titled: "There's No Place Like Home"

..One quick sidenote before I begin...the title is obviously referring to "The Wizard of Oz" where Dorothy chants that phrase THREE times (ahem, a THREE part finale) & wakes up from her DREAM about being in Oz. Probably totally irrelevant to the plot...but I'm just pointing it out....
