Dexter’s Photoshop Massacre

By Valeria – Senior Reviewer
valeria@twocentscorp.com

At the end of last season, our favorite, cuddly, muscular, ridiculously attractive serial-killer got married to his pregnant girlfriend. He grew up!

Obviously, myself, and many rabid viewers of the show had mixed reactions to this development. But, I’m sure that everyone is eagerly awaiting the return of the fourth season of Dexter in September. No TV promos have been released just yet, but some possible promo posters have started circulating on the internet.

This poster of Dexter sitting on a chair looking both scary and sexy appears to be legit. But for all we know, it could be an old poster, or just a mock-up. The real question comes with the other promo poster.

Here, we see Dexter with a very scary baby on his shoulders. Personally, I think this baby looks more terrifying than anything I’ve ever seen, and looks awkwardly photoshopped onto Dexter. Also, I wonder if Dexter’s offspring is going to be a boy or a girl. Some people think that “fake baby” looks like a girl, but I’m not so sure.

What are your thoughts? I think the baby poster is a candidate for Photoshop Disasters.

Dexter - Recap & Review - "Go Your Own Way"

Dexter
Go Your Own Way

Original Air Date: 30 Nov 2008

Valeria - TwoCents Reviewer

The twist in this season is coming very late. But if I told you what it was at the beginning of this review, then there wouldn't be any fun in reading this. The date for the Morgan-Bennet nuptials are fast approaching. Masuka is planning the bachelor party, the food is being catered, and Deb is figuring out if she's a +1 for the wedding. Which, duh, she should be, because Anton is not only incredibly attractive, but also isn't creepily older than her, and isn't a serial killer. Anton should stick around, he's good for Deb - even if her relationship with him could hurt her chances of getting her Detective shield. Even she knows that he's good for her, but, she's a career lady, so she's pushing him away as much as she can.

Dexter - Recap & Review - The Damage A Man Can Do

It’s time to take the next step. Dexter and Miguel have been growing closer together in the Bromance department, but it seems that Miguel has become unsatisfied with where their relationship is right now. So he makes a proposition for Dexter. Miguel doesn’t want to play second fiddle, he wants to actually do the deed himself.

Dexter – “Easy As Pie”

Dexter’s growing relationship with Miguel is continuing to push some boundaries, and possibly taking Dexter into an area more black than grey. It’s clear from the onset that Dexter is toying with the idea of letting Miguel more into his life. Harry is starting to be replaced by Miguel in all the daydreams, and the turnout is always positive – affirming that what Dexter is doing is something good.

Oh, have the marital problems already begun? I’m guessing it’s just a knee-jerk reaction that every man has when he encounters an unplanned pregnancy and a shot-gun proposal. The end of bachelorhood. In Dexter’s case, the end of playtime with his Dark Passenger.

Dexter - Recap & Review - All In The Family

Dexter
“All In The Family”

Original Airdate: Oct 19, 2008

Valeria – TwoCents Reviewer

Dexter Morgan, Family Man. Hmm, ok . . . I could potentially see where this is going. Dexter Morgan, Married Family Man. Ok –HOLD. UP. Dexter, being a sociopath and all, doesn’t really pick up social cues. After a completely botched attempt to announce the new baby to Astor and Cody, the oldest of the Bennett children points out that the two adults are not married. So Dexter, thinking that this family man – married family man thing could work out well to keep his cover (it sounds much better than “lives-alone-keeps-to-himself”) so he asks Rita to marry him. I kid you not, he really does.

Dexter - Recap & Review - The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Dexter
“The Lion Sleeps Tonight”

Original Airdate: Oct 12, 2008

Valeria – TwoCents Reviewer
Valeria@twocentscorp.com

Dexter is experimenting with adulthood. Although he hasn’t technically committed to raising the baby along with Rita, he’s still involved in her life. Personally, I think this is a pretty big deal, and probably says a lot about Rita – she’s still with a man whose child she is carrying, but who is, up until now, unwilling to fully commit to her. I can’t quite put my finger on what this says about Rita. Any ideas? So even though their relationship is in an awkward state of limbo, Dexter and Rita, along with the kids, engage in some grocery shopping.

Right now, Dexter isn’t sure how he feels about kids. Sure he likes them, and likes playing with them - but is he ready to deal with the idea of being responsible for one? Well, he’s going to have to deal with it, because Rita has exited the doctor’s office and confirmed that she really is pregnant.

Dexter - Recap & Review - Our Father

Dexter
“Our Father”

Original Air Date: Sept 28, 2008

Valeria – TwoCents Reviewer
valeria@twocentscorps.com

Life is good for our beloved hero (or serial killer, really, take your pick). Last we left off Dexter Morgan, he had almost framed a man for his crimes, found out that his father committed suicide because of him, and killed a woman who proved to him that he could go onto bigger and better things. We are now prepared to enter, perhaps into the first stages of Dexter Morgan – the adult. He’s taken The Code of Harry, and made it his own, sure he’s still killing people, but this time around he’s in control of his own emotions, and actually his own life.

Where We Left Off: Last we saw Dexter, he underwent an epiphany of sorts. Even though he doesn’t believe in a higher power, he’s sure there must be something somewhere that makes him want to continue doing what he’s doing. So of course, he’s going to keep killing baddies, like he always does – or is he? After discovering the truth about his mentor and step-father Harry, he no longer needs to follow The Code. All I can say is that this season looks eff-ing rad.

Dexter Coming to CBS

DEXTER, the critically acclaimed drama series about a serial killer, which recently completed its second season on premium cable network SHOWTIME, makes an unprecedented appearance on network television when it premieres Sunday, Feb. 17 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

DEXTER's move to CBS marks the first time a full season of a premium cable drama series will make the transition to network television. DEXTER's 12-episode first season will be edited for network television and will be broadcast on 12 consecutive Sundays.

"We're excited to work with our corporate cousins at SHOWTIME on this unique programming opportunity," said Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment. "DEXTER is a high-quality, compelling series that will be new and original programming for most CBS viewers. It's also a great match with our existing lineup, affording us the opportunity to promote this critically decorated series in CBS's top-rated crime dramas."

"We're thrilled to have the chance to expose DEXTER to a wider audience on CBS," said Robert Greenblatt, President, Entertainment, SHOWTIME Networks. "I think it will be very compatible with their lineup as well as be a great opportunity to promote our brand on a platform that reaches every home in America."
