The twist in this season is coming very late. But if I told you what it was at the beginning of this review, then there wouldn't be any fun in reading this. The date for the Morgan-Bennet nuptials are fast approaching. Masuka is planning the bachelor party, the food is being catered, and Deb is figuring out if she's a +1 for the wedding. Which, duh, she should be, because Anton is not only incredibly attractive, but also isn't creepily older than her, and isn't a serial killer. Anton should stick around, he's good for Deb - even if her relationship with him could hurt her chances of getting her Detective shield. Even she knows that he's good for her, but, she's a career lady, so she's pushing him away as much as she can.

Dexter’s growing relationship with Miguel is continuing to push some boundaries, and possibly taking Dexter into an area more black than grey. It’s clear from the onset that Dexter is toying with the idea of letting Miguel more into his life. Harry is starting to be replaced by Miguel in all the daydreams, and the turnout is always positive – affirming that what Dexter is doing is something good.

Dexter is experimenting with adulthood. Although he hasn’t technically committed to raising the baby along with Rita, he’s still involved in her life. Personally, I think this is a pretty big deal, and probably says a lot about Rita – she’s still with a man whose child she is carrying, but who is, up until now, unwilling to fully commit to her. I can’t quite put my finger on what this says about Rita. Any ideas? So even though their relationship is in an awkward state of limbo, Dexter and Rita, along with the kids, engage in some grocery shopping.

I know that Grey’s Anatomy is getting good again when I’m not only connecting with the audience, but I’m reconnecting with the stories lines. The thing that was so good about pre-season 4 (and late season 3) Grey’s was that the patients reflected what was going on with the doctors. Finally, those things are getting back on track.

Last we left off Dexter Morgan, he had almost framed a man for his crimes, found out that his father committed suicide because of him, and killed a woman who proved to him that he could go onto bigger and better things. We are now prepared to enter, perhaps into the first stages of Dexter Morgan – the adult. He’s taken The Code of Harry, and made it his own, sure he’s still killing people, but this time around he’s in control of his own emotions, and actually his own life.

So being away for the majority of the summer, not only made me nostalgic for home, but nostalgic for my massive collection of television DVDs. Last I left off, was right smack dab in the beginning of the first season of 21 Jump Street. Being a show of the late 80s, many current day super stars cut their teeth as guest appearances on the show. Johnny Depp is obviously the reason why this show is such a cult classic, but the first (soon-to-be) celebrity appearance comes from a recent arrestee – Josh Brolin. Brolin, is slated to play Dubya in the upcoming Biopic of the current president’s administration, and he was arrested following an altercation in a bar. After taking a peek at his role in this episode of 21, entitled, My Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades, said arrest doesn’t come as such a big surprise.

This episode is perhaps one of my early favorites of the show. Officer Tom is sent on assignment to investigate burglaries and a possible stalker at South Central High – and that’s really where the episode stays for the rest of the hour.

This is a show that is still clearly trying to find it’s footing. Officer Tom (aka Johnny Depp) is essentially the breakout star of the show. In my experience usually when there’s one really big star, the other fall back – which is why Judy and Doug are completely MIA the entire episode, except for the beginning when everyone is given their assignments. Harry has a small storyline in this episode where he commits a faux paux that threatens good marks on his Sergeant’s exam.

As the title suggests, the third episode of the series deals with the greatness of America. Sort of.

Judy Hoff is put on a case babysitting a foreign student from The Soviet Satellite. Nadia seems harmless at first – mostly a know-it-all with more knowledge of the system of American Government than your average American (pop quiz: how many votes to override a Presidential Veto?). But after a trip to the local mall with Judy, Nadia is confronted with the capitalism and consumerism that is the American Way of Life. This is definitely something she could get used to. The next time Nadia appears, she’s rocking leather duds, and a Motley Crue hairstyle, and is quick to attach herself to any wealthy man with a sports car.

When rewatching (or perhaps watching for the first time) the premiere episode of 21 Jump Street one can’t help but only imagine how Johnny Depp must feel about the job that made him a household name.

The show is dated, the dialogue, at times uncomfortable to listen to, but after sitting through the entire premiere, I began to realize, 21 was really a kind of starting block for modern cop dramas and outlandish teenage behavior on television – so maybe the show looks dated just because now I have Law & Order to compare it against. Not to mention, it introduced JD to the world – which is something I’m sure we’re all grateful for.

I must say that I was somewhat let down by the season finale. Everything was wrapped up nicely and I was engaged the whole time – but I have to say, I feel a bit cheated by Shonda. She told me that great things were going to happen, and that there was going to be a big kiss at the end (not the Meredith and Derek one) that was going to make me lean into the screen and just f-ing melt. Even though I got the kiss I wanted, I was far from melting. But let’s take it from the top and break down the two hour finale.

A lot of stuff happened in this episode, so be prepared! It seems that full reconciliation between Meredith and Derek is well underway. Their clinical trial continues, and this time they have a new patient – Greta - that may or may not be hallucinating her romantic lover. Greta is putting off the procedure until her boyfriend, Andre arrives. With her is her sister, who tells Meredith and Derek that Andre is not real (this could very well be true – the tumor causes one to hallucinate).

My hope is that everything that is happening in this episode is all wondrously set up to re-introduce me to a fabulous show called Grey’s Anatomy. A fabulous ensemble show where every character has a storyline. The story line that I’m actually the most invested in has to be what is currently going on with Alex. Last we left him, we found out that his sometimes-lover Ava/Rebecca/Jane Doe was pregnant with his child - except not – but he doesn’t know that. But this news of him fathering a child is really starting to bring out a side of Alex that is so great to see unfold. Apparently he and Rebecca are already taking preparations to bring their lives together, he’s trying to find her a place nearby to live, and she’s telling her husband that she’s leaving him. Meanwhile, Izzie is deciding to become a real doctor, and she is keeping the truth about the pregnancy results to herself. This is one time, when I would like Izzie to not be a real doctor and tell Alex the truth. It’s going to come back and bite her in the ass, and when it does – I hope it’s for a majestic romantic reunion between her and Alex.

Ojai has no hope, and even though it’s Saul’s fault I can’t help but sympathize with him. In the latest installment of the Walker Saga, the family business goes under, a “sibling” is shunned, and someone else joins the family.

Kitty and Robert are attempting to have a child the old-fashioned way, and even though we don’t know if that bears any fruit. Rebecca finally comes clean to Justin about her blood status. But not until Justin admits to Rebecca that it’s awkward being around her because for the one fleeting moment that he thought the two of them couldn’t be related, he had more-than-sibling feelings for her. When he later attempts to apologize for what he said, Rebecca throws the bomb on him that she’s not his little sister. Suddenly, he’s not sorry so much as pissed and he calls her a liar, just like her mother, telling Rebecca to leave and stay away. Which is what Holly has just said to her.

Little does she know that her very presence will set a whole slew of things in motion, which will lead up to an awesome finale that will not be lame. This is of course, wishful thinking as I have no idea what will happen in the finale.
