Ojai has no hope, and even though it’s Saul’s fault I can’t help but sympathize with him. In the latest installment of the Walker Saga, the family business goes under, a “sibling” is shunned, and someone else joins the family.
Kitty and Robert are attempting to have a child the old-fashioned way, and even though we don’t know if that bears any fruit. Rebecca finally comes clean to Justin about her blood status. But not until Justin admits to Rebecca that it’s awkward being around her because for the one fleeting moment that he thought the two of them couldn’t be related, he had more-than-sibling feelings for her. When he later attempts to apologize for what he said, Rebecca throws the bomb on him that she’s not his little sister. Suddenly, he’s not sorry so much as pissed and he calls her a liar, just like her mother, telling Rebecca to leave and stay away. Which is what Holly has just said to her.

Kitty and Robert are attempting to have a child the old-fashioned way, and even though we don’t know if that bears any fruit. Rebecca finally comes clean to Justin about her blood status. Suddenly, he’s not sorry so much as pissed and he calls her a liar, just like her mother, telling Rebecca to leave and stay away. Which is what Holly has just said to her.
After an emotional confrontation in which Rebecca calls her mother a triflin’ whore, Holly lets it out; telling her daughter that she is ungrateful of the sacrifices she had to make to raise her daughter on her own. She tells Rebecca to leave the house and stay away.
Meanwhile, as Ojai goes down and Sarah and Nora try to find a solution, Saul tries to end his life. He’s in a rough place in his life, blaming Ojai’s demise on himself (which he should), he gets drunk and crashes his car, and when Kevin goes to pick him up at the police station, he finally comes out to his nephew. In an incredibly vulnerable moment, he asks Kevin, “how can I be a gay man at my age?” to which Kevin replies that he doesn’t even know how to be a gay man. I really hope that Saul can pick up the pieces of his life and start anew, maybe with the guy he was in love with way back in the day. As Saul (hopefully!) tries to attempt getting on with his life, Ojai has found a way out from bankruptcy. In an unlikely twist, Holly figures out a way to save Ojai foods.
Sarah tells Nora what’s going on with Ojai, but decides to not tell her that Saul was the one that made the deal. Nora and Sarah go to Tommy and Holly asking them to help out Ojai company. But can a young company like Walker Landing take on a $20 million loan? Tommy isn’t up for it, but Holly’s interested in seeing a proposal. She proposes a merger between Walker Landing and Ojai Foods. Sarah is against it, sure that it being done to usurp her power. But Tommy points out that if they’re going to take on a $20 million loan, they need a pay off. Sarah reluctantly agrees, and her and Tommy become Co-Presidents and Holly, Chairman & CEO. Sarah ends up breaking things off with Graham.
In the only happy thing in this whole episode, Kevin and Scotty take a big step in their relationship. Kevin, emotionally matures and asks Scotty to marry him. For real. In fact, I believe his words were, that he wants to create a family with Scotty. Welcome to The Walkers Scotty. I of course, squeed with Joy at this moment, and watch it on YouTube religiously.
With the season finale being next week, the producers and writers have had to shove in a lot in these last 3 episodes . . . and the great thing is that it doesn’t feel forced at all. I think I said this in one of my other reviews, that this show definitely has found it’s stride. I expect everything to go off well in the season finale next week, but where I’m confused about is JUSTIN AND REBECCA. I don’t know about you, but pseudo-creepy sort-of-siblings aside, I think they’d be great together. Like I’ve said, I’ve never gotten brother-sister vibes from them. But it’s likely this story line won’t be wrapped up nicely with a bow by the end of the season.
