The only way to sum up the premier of the 5th season of Desperate Housewives is to say, “OH MY GOODNESS!” I truly mean it. Every moment of the premier episode had me guessing, shocked, hoping, not breathing, and finally taking sighs of relief. So, let’s get started!! Remember though, we’re 5 years in the future…

    • Susan: The episode opens with a car crash. We see Susan and Mike getting into their black SUV and crashing into a small car with a mother and child. The storyline with this mother and child is that both they and Susan and her son would cross paths multiple times from the day of both of the children’s births to the day of the car crash. After the credits, Susan is seen with another man. At this point, I was confused beyond all reason. This man seems to be her painter, but she doesn’t want to be in a relationship with him. My thoughts were, “is it an affair?” “Is Mike dead and she’s not ready?” etc… At the end of the episode, she has a flashback to the crash and sees Mike through the window, leading viewers such as myself to believe that he’s an illusion. But he’s not! Let me tell you, my sigh of relief was bigger than anything I’ve ever done. They are not married. I guess that he was getting mad that Susan was trying to find some way to blame either her or him for the accident. But Mike is alive, and I cannot wait to see what happens.

    • Bree and Katherine: Bree is the author of a cookbook. Basically, she’s taking credit for all the work that she has shared with Katherine for the past 5 years. During a news broadcast, Katherine decides to get back at Bree for the backstabbing by humiliating her on television. It was devious, which shows that Wisteria Lane hasn’t lost its touch. We also find out that she no longer is taking care of Benjamin because Danielle is married and has requested to take him back. We witness this in a heart-wrenching scene.

    • Lynette: She is still married to Tom! Thank goodness because I love Tom! The only kids of hers we see are the twins, who are all grown up. That’s definitely going to take some getting used to. They seem to cause lots of trouble, starting with an illegal poker game they are hosting at the Pizzeria where they are stealing tequila. Tom decides to go easy on them, but in the end, his parenting skills are criticized by Lynette, and he steps up to bat. It was a wonderful representation of the Scavo marriage.

    • Gabby: Carlos is still blind, and she has two children. Her children seem to be a bit overweight, which adds to some comedy when Gabby attempts to have her oldest exercise by making her chase the car to get in! She’s also gained a bit of weight, but Carlos assures that he’ll always know her as the beautiful woman he married. Again, another wonderful moment between these two married people.

    • Edie: Edie is married! But let’s not even get into that. Her husband apparently has some rage issues, and I happen to believe that he’s back on the Lane to get back at one person in particular. Who? I have no idea and I cannot wait to find out. But back to Edie. She’s back and already in arguments with the other girls. It’s going to be interesting to see if 5 years has changed her.

Well, that’s basically it for the premier episode! I was very happy with it, and it was definitely worth the wait. I want to know what you thought too! Leave your comments on here or email me at Faye@thetwocentscorp.com. I cannot wait to find out what your TwoCents were! I’ll see you all next week.
