Marge Simpson: Chocolates and some time with my dream man: Mr. Clean. (Because sometimes chocolates leave stains!)

The Hill’s come home from Bobby’s baseball game to find their house ransacked. They call the police, but can’t find anything missing – in fact not only is nothing missing, but the tv remote has even turned up and Lucky had been looking for that for days.

In the middle of the night Ladybird awakes the entire family by attacking the couch cushions. Turns out it was the Hill’s dog who ransacked the house. Hank takes Ladybird for a walk and during a thunderstorm Ladybird bites Hank.

While Hank is getting his hand bandaged, his doctor advises him that Ladybird has to be registered on the list of Arlen’s vicious dogs. It’s just a formality unless she bites someone else, then she’ll have to be put down. Hank doesn’t want that to happen to his precious Ladybird so he goes to see a dog whisperer who takes Ladybird to a retirement home to be with the elderly residents.

Another thunderstorm is about to start and Hank is worried that Ladybird is going to bite one of the retirees. Ladybird runs off down the hall and disappears. Someone calls animal control and they close in on Ladybird as the storm starts outside. Ladybird has made her way into the rec room and Hank gets to her just in time to save her from being killed. Turns out she was going deaf and that’s why she’s been acting so weird lately.

The Simpsons
King of the Hill

Original air Date: October 7, 2007

The Simpsons
"Midnight Towboy"

Maggie is being very clingy. Marge tries unsuccessfully to put her to bed, while Homer, Lisa and Bart are having an Animal House toga party in the living room. Marge tries to make Maggie a bottle but the milk bottle breaks sending Homer into a crying jag and then out to the Kwik-E-Mart for more. Apu is out of milk – turns out Milk, Mentos and Lotto scratchoff dust make fuel for jet packs. Moe to the rescue. He pours Homer a glass that may either be milk or paint. Turns out it’s paint, but Homer keeps drinking it and Moe has to charge him.
Back home, Marge is totally acting like my mom trying to use the internet. Bart and Lisa take over using the computer after she accidenly buys a new freezer. They find her a website for a group that will come to the house and teach your baby to be self actualizing.
Homer tries to find milk in Shelbyville but their Welcome To Shelbyville billboard says “No Milk” so he keeps going to Ogdenville but it’s “Milk Free Since ‘73” so he must push on. Near Capital City he sees a billboard for M.I.L.K. but as he gets closer he sees that it’s only an add for Mr. T Is the Lion King playing at the Capitol City theater. A milk truck passes him on the road and he follows it to Guidopolis (Jersey) where the goomba run wild. They have milk though at the Mook-E-Mart, but Homer’s car gets towed by Louie (Matt Dillon).
Turns out being a tow jockey is a pretty sweet life so Louie sells Homer his own tow truck as long as he’ll stick to the Springfield territory. The next day Homer is out towing Bart around town on his skateboard and towing the bumpers off a few cars all around town. Back home, Marge is being taught how to let Maggie grow up by a crazy old hippie lady. Meanwhile, Homer is trying to tow away Arnie Pie’s helicopter while he’s flying over a fire hydrant but that can only lead to disaster. Later at Moe’s Homer is spending his new towing money on the guys but Lenny is double parked outside so Homer tows his car.
The next morning Maggie is getting her own breakfast when Homer stumbles home. Marge says she doesn’t want to live like this never seeing him anymore. Hey, when she married a man who would, years later and without warning, become a tow truck driver, she knew that the deal would eventually be. The rest of the town isn’t happy with Homer either so they launch a plot to get his towing license revoked. They plant a car just over the border into Guidopolis and trick Homer into towing the car, which makes Louie very, very angry. Turns out those in the towing game are strict about their territories.
Louie tows Homer to his very 80’s looking house, where he’s got a basement full of other tow truck drivers he’s locked up for towing in his territory. Louie makes Homer call home to explain that the Simpsons don’t need to come looking for him because he is working and don’t ask any questions if he doesn’t come home forever. Maggie, fearing thew worst, hops on Santa’s Little Helper and rides to Homer’s rescue. As a reward for rescuing him, Homer decides to give Maggie back her nose, but as he goes in to give it back he realizes “that’s Lisa’s nose.” Great, funny episode. 4 out of 5 stars.

King of the Hill
“The Power Puff Boys”

Bobby and Joseph are accosted by some football players. They aren’t trying to beat them up, they recruit Bobby and Joseph to be cheerleaders with the rest of the football team at the annual girls’ football game. Apparently they have girl football now. Who knew? Can the WNFL be far behind? Anyway, it’s quite an honor to be asked by the football team to join them, at least according to Hank who thinks it’s a good in with the team and their coach.
Subplot alert: Peggy wants in at the PTA and the PTA are none too happy about the boys making fun of cheerleaders by dressing in drag and cheerleading themselves.
Turns out being a “Power Puff” cheerleader is a noble tradition and that Hank and his buddies were cheerleaders for the even back in their football days. Lots of cross dressing jokes abound and the PTA shuts down the boys before the big game. Bobby’s not having it though and the boys tell the PTA that they are transsexuals to circumnavigate the rules since there’s an anti-sexual discrimination policy already in place and they can dress in drag and cheer all they want to at the big game. Not a lot of laughs tonight. Where’s Lucky when you need him? 2 out of 5 stars.

"FOX Sunday Animation Block" Recap & Review

The Simpsons
King of the Hill
Family Guy
American Dad

Original Air Date: September 30, 2007

Jeff L. - TwoCents Staff Writer

The Homer of Seville:
The Simpsons beings this week with a nod to Fox owner Rupert Murdoch’s “Wall Street Journal” being better than ever on Bart’s chalkboard. The family races from church to find a restaurant with a short line but end up crashing a catered funeral. Homer ends up being a pallbearer and falls into the open grave, hurting his back. At the hospital he finds out that laying on his back his organs align perfectly to give him a perfect operatic singing voice. Homer serenades the hospital where Mr. Burns overhears his singing and offers him the lead in La Bohéme which he performs while lying on his back. Homer contributes to the culture of Springfield which he says makes up for him showing up drunk to the father/daughter dance (which isn’t until next week). “Sorry, Lisa. You can’t change the future.” Placido Domingo praises Homer’s singing and Lenny and Carl go all Entourage. Homer even lands himself a stalker (Maya Rudolph) who ends up trying to kill him after he spurns her advances. The action culminates at Homer’s The Barber of Seville where his stalker plays maestro and tries to shoot Homer with a poison dart. Marge saves the day with little help from the Springfield police and their snipers and his stalker winds up in the hospital. Homer retires from opera to spend time on his back painting the roof of the house to look like the Sistine Chapel. 3 out of 5 stars.

Bobby Rae:
King of Hill finds Bobby enjoying the sugar high he gets from the six new soda machines at Tom Landry Middle School. It seems the teachers are using the machines to raise money for an all inclusive trip to Cancun. Bobby realizes that carbonated beverages are the closest thing he has to a girlfriend and seeks advice from Hank. Hank tells him that if he wants to find a date he needs to talk to girls and find out what they are interested in. There are some funny moments in the lunch room, where a rejected Bobby and his root beer end up sitting with the outcast kids. One of the kids tells Bobby that the high fructose corn syrup he’s drinking could be contributing to his not getting a date. He demands that the soda machines be removed. His protest is seen by a member of the school board, who makes the teachers stop selling soft drinks. The school board aren’t the only ones taking an interest in Bobby’s soda pop protest. He meets Olivia, a young journalist, who writes Bobby up as “The Boy Who Cares.” The teachers replace the vending machines with a news ticker that only advertises energy bars, which Bobby agrees to protest in order to land a date with Olivia. The teachers refuse to back down and Bobby leads a walk-out. The students look to Bobby for leadership, but he doesn’t know what to do. He leads them to Strickland Propane where Hank scares the kids into going back to school. Olivia runs off with one of the other kids because Bobby doesn’t have any passion. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Moving Out (Brian’s Song):
The show begins with Brian and Jillian (Drew Barrymore) and Stewie watching television. Brian ends up canceling a date to see Disney on Ice with Jillian, by pushing her off on Peter. Meg lands a job at the Quahog Mini Mart. Brian is enjoying his time away from the smothering Jillian and working on his novel “Faster than the Speed of Love” which according to Lois is just a rip off of Iron Eagle and it’s three sequels. Peter convinces Brain that he’s going to lose Jillian unless he takes the next step and moves in with her. He moves in with her and brings Stewie along to pay the bills since he took over Chris’ paper route since Chris has joined Meg working at the Mini-Mart. Jillian finds out that Brian can’t pay the bills and breaks up with him. Meg is having to do all the hard work at the store while Chris and the boss play Mr. Skin and she gets fired. Stewie tries to cheer Brian up with a party where Brian realizes that he wants to win back Jillian, but it’s too late. She’s moved in with Adam West. 3 out of 5 stars.

Vacation Goo:
Vacation Goo refers to the green goop in the CIA articial memory chambers that Stan uses every year for the Smith family “Vacation.” It turns out that all the happy vacation memories the family enjoys are all fake. Stan drugs them and watches college football while the family is on vacation. Francine demands a real vacation. Meanwhile, Roger the Alien is trying to become the greatest actor of all time, but cannot cry on cue. That doesn’t stop him from landing a part on a soap opera ala Tootsie. The family is enjoying their ski vacation until they realize that Steve has plopped the family into the goo to enjoy is own vacation away from the family. The men in this family can’t be trusted to plan a vacation so Francine and Haley plan a trip to Italy. This time it’s Haley who drugs the family and puts them in the memory chambers so she can enjoy some kinky alone time with Jeff. The family wakes up and Francine demands a real vacation. The Smiths embark on a cruise after convincing Francine that this time it’s for real. Stan shows her the memory chambers being returned to the CIA and they set sail for real. The cruise is too good to be real to Francine who thinks she MUST be back in the memory chamber goo and jumps off the cruise ship to try to prove it’s fake. Turns out it’s real and the family board a life boat along with Becky from the cruise ship to search for Francine. They find her and end up shipwrecked and hungry on an island where the locals are hunting them for sport. After being at sea for four days and trapped in a cave-in (which kills Becky) the Smiths become cannibals only to find out that the hunt was actually just Jimmy Buffet’s Most Dangerous Game Family Retreat and the hunters were just using paintballs. Meanwhile Roger quits the soap opera and through his trials and tribulations as a dancer/prostitute learns to cry on cue. When the Smiths return home they vow to never vacation for real again. As the show ends we see them hot air ballooning over the Grand Canyon drinking champagne and quick cut back the Smith family basement where they are all really in the goo. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Fox Animation Block Recap & Review

The Simpsons "He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs"
King of the Hill "Suite Smell of Success"
Family Guy "Blue Harvest"

Original Air Date: September 23, 2007

Jeff L - TwoCents Staff Writer

The Simpsons: "He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs".
Hilarious new opening segment picks up where The Simpsons Movie left off. With Bart promising not to wait 20 years to make another movie and then skateboarding through the rubble of the giant dome all the way to the being rebuilt Simpson house where Spider Pig waits for Homer -- his summer love. Homer sort of saves Mr. Burns from drowning in a wishing well at the mall and Burns rewards Homer by flying him to Chicago in his ultra-luxury jet. Homer loves the good life aboard the plane including in-flight entertainment by Lionel Richie who performs Say You Say Me but makes it about beer at Homer's request.
After returning to Springfield, Homer vows to find a job that will allow him the chance to live the high-lift aboard a corporate jet and turns to life coach Stephen Colbert. Colbert is hilarious as the coach who gives lessons not just in falling down stairs and bowling but also landing a plane on the verge or crashing. The funniest moment of the show comes when Homer lands the plane he's chartered after the pilot passes out only to drive it over a cliff when he attempts to taxi the plane to the gate. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

King of the Hill: "Suite Smell of Excess"
The 12th (yes 12th) season begins with Bobby Hill (that boy STILL aint right) finally taking an interest in football. Hank, Bill, Boomhauer and Dale take Bobby to a Texas vs. Nebraska football game in an effort to solidify Bobby's new football interest. The gang end up sneaking into a VIP suite belonging to retired Nebraska quarterback Jake Middleton. After some mistaken identity the Nebraska assistant coach phones the box for a play from Middleton and Hank brings down the wrath of the entire state of Texas when the play he thinks will win for the Longhorns goes bad and Nebraska wins the game. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

The Family Guy: "Blue Harvest"
The highlight of the night was the Family Guy episode titled Blue Harvest (a nod to the code named used when Lucas was shooting the original Star Wars film). A power outage puts Peter into storytelling mode where he shares a story of love and loss, fathers and sons and the foresight to retain international merchandising rights. The story of Star Wars.
This episode is an instant classic with hilarious parodies of not only Star Wars but also golf announcers, George Bush, Deal or No Deal, Grey Poupon commericals, Dr. Who, the Astroids video game, Rush Limbaugh (in a hilarious voice cameo) Dirty Dancing, Shopping Malls, Magic Johnson, Hollywood gift baskets, Sanford and Son, Red Buttons, Simply Red, National Lampoon's Vacation, Airplane! and Robot Chicken. I believe the funniest moment, in a show that was FULL of funny moments, was R2D2/Cleveland displaying not only Princess Leia/Lois' "Help Me Obi Wan" message but also an advertisement for Darth Harrington's Intergalactic Proton Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droids and Moonbase. 5 out of 5 stars. Instant Classic Episode.

Some Animated Picks for Sunday's Football Games!

As FOX’s new Sunday-night lineup kicks off Sept. 23 with the 19th season premiere of THE SIMPSONS (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), a football-themed episode of KING OF THE HILL (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) and a special “Star Wars” episode of FAMILY GUY (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), followed by the season premiere of AMERICAN DAD on Sunday, Sept. 30 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), our quaterbacks of comedy – Homer Simpson, Hank Hill, Peter Griffin and Stan Smith – throw some Hail Marys with their “picks” for this Sunday’s NFL games.

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots:
Peter Griffin (FAMILY GUY): Well, first of all, New England is just freakin’ sweet. They may not lose a game the entire year. Plus, the Pats got spy cameras watchin’ you. Just like the government. “The Patriot Act” – that was all Belichick’s idea. My pick: New England.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Baltimore Ravens:
Homer Simpson (THE SIMPSONS): Because it’s the Cardinals versus the Ravens, I’m passing this one off to our family’s bird-nerd, Lisa Simpson.
Lisa Simpson: It’s called an ornithologist.
Homer Simpson: Thanks for nothing. Take the Ravens.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans:
Stan Smith (AMERICAN DAD): You know, my first gun was a Colt 45. Man, I shot TONS of people with that thing! My pick: Indianapolis Colts.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears:
Hank Hill (KING OF THE HILL): Who's going to win the Cowboys/Bears game? Frankly I'm a little insulted you'd even ask me that question. The Cowboys are America's team. So I am going to go with America. My pick: Dallas Cowboys.
Homer Simpson: Let’s see... If the show “Dallas” fought the band Chicago, who would win? Well, Bobby Ewing’s got a cannon for an arm, but you’re never going to get a passing game going with Peter Cetera coming on the blitz. It all comes down to special teams. I see Sue Ellen kicking a last-second field goal to give Dallas the win. But this game is up against THE SIMPSONS season premiere, starring Lionel Richie and Stephen Colbert, so watch that instead.

New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins:
Homer Simpson: I pick the Giants because their backup quarterback, Jared Lorenzen, like myself is a man of great weight. You’re sending an important message to today’s kids – obesity is not a problem in America.

Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars:
Stan Smith: Ah, Denver, the Mile High City. Wait, does that mean it's actually a mile high? So if Franny and I, you know (whistling), in Denver ... would that, like ... would that put us into the Mile High Club? My pick: Denver Broncos.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers:
Peter Griffin: The hometown fans are going to be pretty intense for Pittsburgh. They got nothing else to live for. The only chance for San Fran is if they can get Barry Bonds to play quarterback. Good luck finding a helmet to fit over that huge melon he calls a head. My pick: Pittsburgh Steelers.

Detroit Lions vs. Philadelphia Eagles:
Homer Simpson: You’re a winner for not living in either of these cities. Unless you do, in which case I pick the city that is home to the Liberty Bell – Detroit. They stole it when Philadelphia wasn’t looking.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Seattle Seahawks:
Stan Smith: You gotta go with the team you know the best. I got to know the Bengals pretty well by arresting nine of them … Those guys are characters! My pick: Cincinnati Bengals.

Cleveland Browns vs. Oakland Raiders:
Hank Hill: Cleveland at Oakland? Well, neither of them are the Cowboys – and, well, Oakland is in California, so I'm going to have to go with Browns. My pick: Cleveland Browns.

San Diego Chargers vs. Green Bay Packers:
Homer Simpson: Brett Favre, I respect you enormously, but sir, it’s time to retire. Just open a steakhouse called Brett’s Place and put your old football junk in it. In the first year, go by once or twice a week, then never go again. My pick? Brett’s Place. For the best onion rings in the entire Wisconsin thumb.

Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons:
Hank Hill: I still think of the Panthers as a new team. And I generally don't like things that are new. And since the Panthers knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs twice, I'll take the Falcons out of spite. My pick: Atlanta Falcons.

Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets:
Homer Simpson: Both of these cities are awesome places to visit. Why do they even need football? However, I do like how the dolphin on the Miami helmet wears a helmet. That’s smart. Safety first. Miami by six.

St. Louis Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Peter Griffin: Well, the Rams got Mark Bulger and he’s tough to stop. Hehehe, bulge. My pick: St. Louis Rams.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Kansas City Chiefs:
Homer Simpson: I think Kansas City will be cooking up a tasty victory against the ... oh, “Chiefs.” I thought it said “Chefs.” Anyway, take Kansas City. Because the Vikings with their wide stance and tapping toes will never get out of the Minneapolis Airport men’s room.
