Sam's back! Well not back in 2008, but back on our TV screens, this time trying to talk a suicidal jumper off a ledge. It doesn't work, but that's because Nunzio, a cop from a rival precinct, reverse psychologies the guy into jumping. Nicely done, Nunzio. The jumper ends up on Gene's books and that's enough to activate the long-running feud between the two precincts. Gene is ready for war with Sam trying to act like Spartacus.

Of course, they did it by planting evidence, assaulting suspects, and randomly arresting people, but it worked for them—at least until Sam decides that they should follow 2008 rules. Then, the guy gets away and a girl gets hurt. Everyone blames Sam, who has to clean up her blood with his coat, but Sam doesn't blame himself. Then again, he's too busy trying to figure if any of this is real.

Either way, recall is certainly the problem in this episode, as Cameron malfunctions and loses her memory of the present, but reacquires some dangerous memories from the future.
