Let’s talk about love. Let’s talk about life. Let’s talk about trust— Wait, this isn’t a Celine Dion song. But those topics do drive this week’s episode. With souls and demons trying to be good and co-workers being bad to each other, what exactly makes someone a better person?

It’s only human to want things you don’t have: freedom from a contract or temptation, a vacation with your boyfriend, a boyfriend period, or a chance with your smokin’ stepsister. This week Sam searches for a soul with answers, Ben piques a demon’s interest, and Sock tries to make Kristin see their relationship his way.

Fellow Reaper fans: our boys are back! Some people are happier than others to have them back, though. The Devil welcomes his beloved Reaper Sam with his biggest bounty hunt yet, a worried Andi less than welcomes him back after fearing the worst for him, and Ted is all too thrilled to welcome all the boys back with the cops. But what else is in store for them besides angry girlfriends and slightly sadistic bosses?

Reaper Returns Early on March 3rd!!

Season two finds Sam wrestling with the recent discovery that he may be the son of the Devil. But Sam quickly learns that getting groomed to take over the “family business” comes with a whole new litany of headaches. The demon rebellion he once collaborated with is now out to kill him – a conflict further complicated when Ben starts dating the demon assassin (Jenny Wade, “Feast,” “No Reservations”) tasked with the job Sam also finds he’s not the Devil’s only son and that one in particular (Armie Hammer, “Billy,” “Veronica Mars”) is Hell-bent on taking Sam’s place at the Devil’s side. Plus, Sam must decide whether to reveal any of this news to his girlfriend Andi (Missy Perergrym, “Heroes”) who’s already wary of his extracurricular activities for Hell. But a chance encounter with an elusive soul (Sean Patrick Thomas, “Save the Last Dance,” “A Raisin in the Sun”) who claims to have gotten out of his own deal with the Devil, offers Sam a glimmer of hope that he may not be stuck working for the Devil forever. Getting him to reveal exactly how he did it, however, will be easier said than done.

Sam: Now I wanna know the truth.

I want to know the truth too, Sam. Does your dad have an earthworm’s respiratory system, or is there something weird about him? Thank the big guy there’s a second season. The finale left me asking more questions than it answered, and if this were the last episode period I’d hate never watching them explored.

"Reaper" Recap & Review - "The Leak"

Reaper
“The Leak”

Original Air Date: May 13, 2008

People like to say that honesty is the best policy. Well. Most of the characters in this week’s episode seem to be ignoring that piece of advice for their own reasons. In an episode wrought with infidelity, deceit, and fake marriages depicted with photoshopped family albums, probably the most important of these lies concerns Sam’s contract. Those of you who were disappointed last week’s episode strayed from the mythology the post-strike episodes have built up will be thrilled this week’s returned to it in a very big way. The show revisits its most monumental scene and asks what the fans have wanted to know since Mr. Oliver burned pages out of Sam’s hefty contract. What kind of secret could be so horrible he’d destroy the contract to keep it from his son? Key word there, “son.”

CW's Upfront 08-09 Announcements. Reaper Returns!

The CW Network announced a fall launch date of September 1 and unveiled the schedule for its 2008-2009 season today at a presentation and party for advertisers, affiliates and national media in the Tent at Lincoln Center. The announcement was made by Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment, The CW.

“With shows that everyone is talking about, from `Gossip Girl' and `America's Next Top Model' to our upcoming `90210,' our new lineup has the best Monday-Friday schedule flow we have ever had at The CW,” said Ostroff. “We are zeroed in on our target demo of young women 18-34 with both new and returning series, and each programming block provides a strong promotional platform for the following night. We're confident that the quality of our shows for the fall season will make The CW the destination for young women.”

Hollywood Reporter says Reaper is Coming Back

That's right "Reaper" fans! The show seems to be coming back!!

"The CW has picked up cult-favorite supernatural drama "Reaper" for a second season.

"Reaper" will return for 13 episodes midseason and will likely be paired with "Supernatural" on Thursday nights after "Smallville" concludes its run.

The network made the decision Monday, going down to the wire on picking up the series before the CW's upfront presentation to advertisers the next day.

"Reaper" has a devoted fanbase, but has struggled in the ratings. Most recently the show averaged about a 1.0 rating among adults 18 to 49. The show initially impressed critics with its strong pilot directed by Kevin Smith ("Clerks"), then seemed to creatively stumble. Recent episodes, however, have fans saying the show is back on track with a more serialized storyline and sharper wit.

Quick TwoCents With Valarie Rae Miller of Reaper

Yesterday we posted a great video that Valarie Rae Miller (Josie on "Reaper") put together of the cast and crew of "Reaper" lip syncing to "Can't Truss It". (Click HERE to see the video again.) The readers sent in emails and I went direct to the source for some answers.

Here is what Valarie had to say for herself:

TheTwoCents: What "possessed" you to make this video?
Valarie Rae Miller: The idea for the video came from a dinner conversation with Cash Warren (who owns the site) and Jessica Alba last week. They showed me the site and I saw the one that they had done for the site's launch. It was so much fun that I wanted to do something. Cash suggested that I eat a tablespoon of cinnamon - one of the competitions that was posted. I loved all of the trash talking that went on between the members so I told Cash I was going try to do something with the guys from work. He kinda dared me. That's all it took. ;-)

TTC: How easy was it to get the cast and crew involved?
VRM: Some of the cast and crew were really gung-ho. Some... well... let's just say I had to do a lot of persuading. A lot of people get really shy when there's a camera around. Even many of the actors were nervous. Once we got rolling, I put together a rough cut and showed some of the more timid members of our Reaper family. What's really funny is that a couple of the more memorable bits came from the second-rounders.

TTC: How did you pick that great song?
VRM: I knew I wanted to do something that was related to having "The Devil" as a character on the show. (How great is that?) I got the cast and crew to help me brainstorm. We came up with a ton of crazy options. The more obvious choices were the often used Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil" and then there was "Devil Inside" by INXS. After I got Rick Gonzales and Tyler Labine to look at the site where I was posting it we all decided it should be upbeat. Then I asked everyone. “Can't Truss It” popped into my head when I heard that Flava Flav was in town doing a TV show. I have been on "Flav Watch" all week to try to get him to do a cameo....Maybe in a remix. It was also a good choice because it would take everyone out of their comfort zone since no one really knew the whole song.

Thanks for the input Valarie! Let's all hope that Reaper comes back next year as it's a great show that unfortunately not a lot of people are watching.

So, did you guys like that video or what? Don't the cast and crew look like they would be so much fun to work with?

Here’s a pop quiz. What do you do when your significant other sees you chop a guy’s head off on a bounty hunt?
a) Tell them the truth over drinks
b) Get your friends to kidnap and stuff them in the trunk of a car
c) Show them a normal man transforming into a demon
d) Get your Satanic boss to kidnap and stuff them in the trunk of a car
e) All of the above
If you’re Sam in this situation and Andi’s threatening to call the cops on you, apparently your answer is e). You’re usually pretty safe bubbling “all of the above” in those multiple-choice tests.

Satan can’t get into circles, but it’s harder for our Reaper to get out of Satan’s grasp. Sam gets roped into a demon rebellion against his evil employer, but who’s really running the show?

As the boys indulge in free beer addressed to their apartment’s previous tenant, the Devil transports Sam to a bus stop to…invite him for ice cream? Sam just wants to get his assignment and go. Sam starts the show in the store, not waking up. Nice. He’s paged for some help from a customer… yeah, it’s the Devil. Devil needs Sam to go work on the plumbing of an acquaintance of his. Sam arrives at the home of Mimi (Melinda Clarke – “O.C.”, “Firefly”). Mimi’s dishwasher is destroyed because she tried to do laundry in there –“intimate” laundry. Last week our boys used a meat thermometer as a vessel, Andi and Sam had a big fight and are on rocky ground, and Patton Oswald guest starred. On to this week!

On every channel in the car, we hear Radar Love. It’s this week’s clue. But the immediate mission? Sock is trying to get Sam some lovin’ now that he’s into the ‘friend zone’ with Andi. Sock puts a song on the jukebox and shows us some Socks killer dance moves and the girlies all gather around. Gotta love bachelorette parties. Sam gets a nice kiss from a girl named Taylor (Pascale Hutton – Traveler, Smallville).
