Sam starts the show in the store, not waking up. Nice. He’s paged for some help from a customer… yeah, it’s the Devil. Devil needs Sam to go work on the plumbing of an acquaintance of his. Sam arrives at the home of Mimi (Melinda Clarke – “O.C.”, “Firefly”). Mimi’s dishwasher is destroyed because she tried to do laundry in there –“intimate” laundry. Mimi’s boyfriend, Jerry, arranged for the help – Jerry is … yup, the Devil.

Sam starts the show in the store, not waking up. Nice. He’s paged for some help from a customer… yeah, it’s the Devil. Devil needs Sam to go work on the plumbing of an acquaintance of his. Sam arrives at the home of Mimi (Melinda Clarke – “O.C.”, “Firefly”). Mimi’s dishwasher is destroyed because she tried to do laundry in there –“intimate” laundry. Mimi’s boyfriend, Jerry, arranged for the help – Jerry is … yup, the Devil.
At the workbench, Sam, Benny and Sock are relegated to food court duty and Andi is pretending all is ok between her and Sam in the friendship zone, but according to Sock, she’s just acting like a “dude”. And thus Sam is acting like a “chick”.
Devil flashes Sam to a funeral home. Refusing to talk about Mimi, Devil talks about Dennis Grayson, who is this week’s escaped soul. He used to run the funeral home they are standing in and sold body parts for money. Dennis is back as a ghost – invisible. He’s hunting down a specific list of people which Devil gives Sam a copy of. He has to find Sarah Negly. Back to Mimi’s for more fix-it time for Sam.
The vessel case has arrived. And this week we have a hair dryer. Ben’s grandmother is in the store and can’t stop staring down Sam. Can she see he works for the Devil? Yup, according to Benny – his family believes that Grandma can see evil spirits. Why have they never met Benny’s family - because he’s ashamed of his two friends.
The boys arrive at the Negly home to find out – Sarah died a few years ago. Her ashes remain in the home which now seems to be having earthquake tremors. The urn falls off the mantle and the ashes come to life and kill Sarah’s son. Dennis Grayson is back. He uses the ashes of the dead to form a body and kill.
Sock convinces Sam to ask out Andi again, he does so with Benny in ear shot. She turns him down cold and as Sam slinks away Benny pushed Andi to make a move and stop being ‘a guy’. All Andi can say about Sam’s chances is ‘maybe’. The boys then go into a big fake contest scheme to steal the ashes of all the people on the Devil’s list to keep Grayson from being able to attack again. Of course, now the trunk of their car is full of ashes – anyone else see a big Grayson attack coming?
The Devil shows up to tell Sam to focus on finding Grayson and to stop talking to Mimi about him. Then Sam’s Dad gives the fatherly advise that 5 years of chasing Andi is enough and maybe Sam should move on. Sock and Sam start to leave Mimi’s house (washing machine still broken) even though Mimi is sitting there, as Sock put it, like a big bowl of YES, and head off to Benny’s family’s party – even though they aren’t invited. Sam believes he can use Benny’s grandmother to see the future. They bring Mimi with them to the party because she looks so sad. As Sock and Mimi get their dance on, Mimi says she would hate to see what “Jerry” would do if he saw them together. Realized he doesn’t want to piss off the Devil, Sock dances away.
Sam gets a sit down with Mystic Grandma and she looks into his eyes, then at his palm and then stabs it with a fork. Sock flies into action and tackles Grandma to the ground. Benny’s future in the family is doomed. Sam and Sock drive Mimi home. She invites Sam in for some advice about possibly breaking it off with Jerry. (Look for the correlation with Sam and Andi here folks.) Sam suggests she should leave Jerry and the earthquakes start. Mimi’s mother’s ashes are in the other room. We have trouble!
The vessel isn’t here. They left it at the party. The ashes get spilled and Grayson has arrived! Almost. Sam hoses down the ashes into a puddle of mud which Sock wet/dry vacs them up. They throw the wet/dry vac into the trunk. Remember what’s back there? ALL THE ASHES!!!
Sam and Sock arrive back at the party location and Benny and Grandma are there to let them in just as the ash monster escapes from the trunk of the car. They find the hair dryer vessel just in time, and as they are showered in dead people’s ashes, the soul is locked up for return to hell.
Devil arrives at Work Bench to congratulate Sam, and reveal that Mimi has decided to leave “Jerry” and move to New Mexico. Sam calls Devil on his love for Mimi and he tries to play it off. Sam goes to say goodbye to Mimi at her Yard Sale and meets a girl who shares his love of bad movies on tape. By the way…the girl, named Cady (Jessica Stroup), is Mimi’s daughter. I like Cady already – Donatello is her favorite Ninja Turtle. Now, is Cady the Devil’s daughter? We shall see!!
