SPIKE TV ENTERS A NEW GALAXY WITH THE COMPLETE STAR WARS™ SAGA

The Force is with Spike TV this April as the complete Star Wars Saga comes to basic cable. Airing Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 6, and Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13, the two-weekend event includes the broadcast premiere of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and the basic cable premieres of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Spike TV’s Star Wars presentation marks the first time that all six movies will be presented together on a basic cable network.

Spike TV’s presentation of the Star Wars Saga will feature digitally re-mastered versions of the films, shown uncut and presented in HD where available. Throughout each weekend, Spike TV viewers will be treated to special Star Wars features provided by Lucasfilm Ltd., including a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Spike TV will also premiere an exclusive clip of LucasArts’ highly anticipated new videogame, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is scheduled for release this summer.

"Star Wars" TV Series(es) News

George Lucas and his 'people' can now get down to work on their television projects after having wrapped filming of Indiana Jones.

Lucas will be doing two shows. One is a 3-D animated version of Clone Wars which he is currently shopping to networks.

The big story though is the live action series he's creating. TheForce.net is a great place for all news Star Wars and they have THIS CONSTANTLY UPDATED STORY that has some very juicy little tidbits. Of course, consider them all to be rumors until the King of Merchandising confirms them himself.

Also, E! is reporting that Lucas has said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times: ""The Skywalkers aren't in it—it's about minor characters," the 63-year-old Lucas told the newspaper. "It has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of those people. It's completely different.""

I'm picturing it as a Star Trek version of the Star Wars Galaxy.

Star Wars and Hallmark have teamed up again to release their Star Wars themed "Keepsake" ornaments.

All four went on sale at Hallmark stores this weekend. They consist of R2 with a Jawa, The Millenium Falcon, Obi-Wan giving Luke his first lightsaber (complete with three different sound and light effect) and a Tusken Raider. The raider is the first Hallmark Star Wars ornament that was made in a limited edition.

Mike is a new writer for one of the foremost Star Wars fan sites out there! People flock to his site for all kind of news and information!

Recently I caught up with Mike and he provided us with his Two Cents & Five Answers about himself, the site and of course the Star Wars Galaxy!

TwoCents: Please tell the Two Cents readers about yourself and your website.
Mike Barrick: My name is Mike Barrick and I live in Abingdon, Maryland with my beautiful wife, Michele and 1 year old son Landon (named after Lando Calrissian). I am 28 and have been working in new home sales for the past 8 years. I had been a fan of TheForce.net for years. It was always a daily "go to" site for me not just for the news but for the book reviews. As much as I love the Star Wars movies, I have the same affection for the novels and the entire Expanded Universe.
TheForce.net is a Star Wars fan site for fans and run by fans. We have all of your up to date Star Wars news along with book reviews, fan films, fan art, Star Wars humor, message boards, collecting information and more. Combine TheForce.net with our partner site Rebelscum.com (catering to collecting) and our weekly podcast known as The Force-Cast and we got it all covered...and then some.

TC: How did you become involved with TheForce.net? What keeps you interested in doing it?
MB: I had actually won a contest through our podcast, The Weekly Force-Cast where I had to pledge my Allegiance to the Force-Cast is hopes of winning a copy of the Star Wars novel, "Allegiance" signed by author Timothy Zahn. I had also been e-mailing and sending in stories I came across here and there so when it same time that Fan Club President and TFN Content Manager, Dustin Roberts, needed some extra help in the news area, my name apparently came to mind. The love of Star Wars keeps me interested as well as all of the great people I have been coresponding with around the world as a result.

TC: Your site focuses mostly on Star Wars, has any of the movie's crew or cast been by to see the site?
MB: Being that I am still the new guy I am not 100% sure of the celebrities who actually read the site daily. We have a great relationship with Starwars.com and Lucasfilm, and are in regular contact with them in order to keep stories straight. I know that they check out the site. We have had some great Star Wars celebrity interviews on The Force-Cast with cast members like Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett in the Original Trilogy), David Prowse (Darth Vader in teh Original Trilogy), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian in Episodes V and VI), Jake Lloyd (Anakin Skywalker in Episode I) and many more. The Force-Cast has also been lucky enough to interview numerous Star Wars artists and authors. I do beleive that Kyle Newman, director of the upcoming movie "Fanboys," checks out the site and has graced the Force-Cast with a couple of interviews as well.

TC: What fun websites do you visit for your own entertainment?
MB: I check out some movie sites like Dark Horizons and Rotten Tomatoes. Naturally Starwars.com is a must see along with PearlJam.com and various sports and news sites. In the winter, I am on every Ski resort website there is in my surrounding area.

TC: What is your dream future state for your site?
MB: I hope the site continues to be one of the biggest, best and most comprehensive Star Wars fan sites there are. Star Wars is not dead! There is too much good stuff on the horizon from TV shows to comics to video games to novels. We really stepped up our game with our coverage of Celebration IV and hopefully that is a good sign of things to come for our readers.

TC: If someone were to climb off a desert island and only have time to watch five movies to learn what American cinema is all about, what five movies would you show them?
MB: "Attack of the Clone", "Revenge of the Sith", "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back", and "Return of the Jedi"... OF COURSE!

Again helping to celebrate the 30 Year Anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars, HBO is doing its part.

Starting at 3:30pm EST today, HBO will show all six "chapters" of the Star Wars Saga.

3:30pm - Episode I: The Phantom Menace (introduction of JarJar - ugh)
5:30pm - Episode II: Attack of the Clones (MILLIONS of CGI soldiers)
8:00pm - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (watch how Lucas gels the first 3 to the original 3)
10:30pm - Episode IV: A New Hope (where the brilliance began!)
1:00am - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (what many fans beleive to be the BEST of them all)
3:00am - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (having Hayden in the end annoys me, but still a great movie. Everyone sing the Ewok song - come on, you know you know it!)

30 Years Ago In a Galaxy Not Too Far Away...

... Star Wars was released in the theaters.

Expect to see a TON of specials, merchandise, movie screenings, etc etc etc to commemorate the release of this movie changing epic.

One such special is coming to The History Channel.

TheForce.Net has posted a press release that starts: "Thirty years ago, an unheralded film known as Star Wars opened in theaters and took audiences on a groundbreaking journey to a galaxy far, far away. It instantly seized the public’s imagination, and three decades later still claims that grasp.
Now, a new special from The History Channel seeks to understand why the emotional impact of the Star Wars Saga remains as relevant as ever. The two-hour special, STAR WARS: THE LEGACY REVEALED, is a World Premiere on The History Channel on Monday, May 28 at 9pm ET/PT."

The Force is Strong With...

...Your Mail! To go along with the R2D2 Mailboxes throughout the land, the United States Postal Service unveiled today a website detailing other ways the USPS is helping to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars.

They include stamps, priority mail envelopes, and the mailboxes.

Help Me Mailman...You're My Only Hope

Get ready to act out that scene where Princess Leia puts the plans into R2D2 and says: "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope".

To help celebrate the 30 year anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope, the United States Postal Service has outfited mailboxes across the country to look like R2D2! Click on the picture to the left to see a bigger version of it.
