This week’s Lost was full of fun surprises. But it started out with a flashback of the six on that plane, and there’s a flash. Frank and his co-pilot have to land the plane on the island, which has a runway for some reason, and they crash. The co-pilot is awesomely impaled, and Frank sees that the only people left on the plane are Sun, Ben, and Cesar and his lady friend. The rest of the Six are gone, so why is Sun still there? As you’ll see, Sun’s got a bit of a journey ahead of her.

Thirty years earlier, Hurley, Jack, and Kate are re-united with Jin and Sawyer. Jack poops all over the party by saying that Locke is dead, and Sawyer returns the favor by telling them it’s 1978 and he’s in the Dharma initiative. Sawyer decides to bring them back to Dharmaville posing as new recruits. Juliet finds Sawyer at their house, packing clothes, and he tells her they’re back. She looks sad, probably because she knows this means Kate is back too. Trust me, Juliet, you’re not the only one who wishes Kate would die in some sort of humiliating fashion. Jin, having been told that Sun was on the plane, forces Radzinsky to help look for the plane. Sun’s on the beach, and Frank says he doesn’t know where they are. Ben not-so-stealthily walks away, and Sun and Frank follow. Ben says he’s going back to their island, and seems to know exactly what to do. Somehow, this surprises Sun.

Back in Dharmaville, Juliet takes the manifest for the new recruits from Ethan’s mom to help Sawyer, who has taken his friends to pose as recruits. He gives them terrible 70s clothes, and they run into Miles, who tells him there’s a hostile at the Flame. Jin says it’s Sayid, who was found wandering in the jungle. Meanwhile, Ben and Sun are awkwardly walking through the jungle, and Frank catches up. He tells her not to trust Ben, because the people on the freighter came looking for him. Ben wins best line of the night by saying “how’d that work out for them?” Sun hits Ben with an oar, and she and Frank get on a boat headed for their island. Not smart, Sun. Remember the freighter? And the purge? And Locke getting killed? And Abbadon, the master of badassery, getting shot? Yeah, that was Ben. Start praying now, Sun, you’re gonna need it.

The new recruits are watching one of those fun Dharma orientation videos, and Pierre Chang tells Jack he has to be a janitor, which is actually still probably more than he’s qualified for. But then again, whiny douche isn’t a position on the island. Juliet and Kate share a death glare, and Sawyer goes to see Sayid. Ranzinsky thinks they should shoot Sayid, but Sawyer and Jin take him to the base instead. While this is happening, Frank and Sun arrive on the island, and everything looks deserted. Suddenly Christian shows up, and says they have to follow him. Sun asks where Jin is, and Frank shows her a picture of the Dharma recruits from 1977, and tells her “I’m sorry, but you have a bit of a journey ahead of you.” I love Christian. Just when someone thinks it’s gonna be easy, he shows up and is all like “actually, I’m going to help fate crap all over you.” Back in Dharmaville, Jack goes to Sawyer’s house, and questions Sawyer’s way of doing things. Sawyer says the difference between them is that he actually thinks, which is probably why Jack is the janitor. Jack is a douche and leaves. Wonders never cease.

And then, in the best scene of the night, a little boy brings Sayid a sandwich. It’s Little Ben! He’s sweet and adorable, and offers to go get some mustard. And then you just know that in the future, that kid is going to be such a badass. I liked tonight’s episode, but as usual, I think less Kate would have been cool. I want to see an episode all about Little Ben, because he’s just about the cutest kid ever. It’ll be like in Revenge of the Sith, when we got to see why Anakin Skywalker turned into Darth Vader, except hopefully Lost will make it not suck. Also, where is Locke? Star Wars analogies aside, I hope you enjoyed this episode. Leave your Two Cents in the comments, and I’ll see you next week!

  3. I love how all women hate Kate because she is hot. Women are funny.

  4. The way that Kate looks right through Sawyer. OMG. Drives me crazy. I love it. It's like Kate's stare just tears down Sawyer's armor in an instant.

I wonder where I can find my Kate...
