This week, the contestants are up against a bar mitzvah. I can’t understand why you would want such a big event to happen at Hell’s Kitchen, knowing all that tends to go wrong there but the birthday boy, Max, seems all for it. The first challenge consists of each team making his three favorite foods: a cheeseburger, brisket and chicken soup. The women lose thanks to Carol, who insists on putting bleu cheese on the burger.

The men plus Lacey get to go to a spa and the women have to spend the day redecorating the restaurant. The designer, Francisco, is brought out and if you’ve seen Hell’s Kitchen before, you know when he shows up, we’re entering into Super Stagedville, USA. J.P. doesn’t get along with the flamboyant Francisco and ridiculousness ensues. I don’t understand why the producers feel the need to make stuff up and stage moments like this because it’s not entertaining and is actually beyond annoying.

Speaking of annoying, J has picked up this bad habit of talking about himself in the third person. Honestly, why does anyone do that? You just look stupid. Seriously. Remember that.

Elsewhere, Carol and Angela fight for supremacy and both come off looking bad, if you ask me. Lacey repeatedly brings up how Gordon said she was “shining” at the previous service because she never learned that a compliment is best when not repeated nine hundred times.

Standouts on the Side of Good:
No one stood out again this week.

Standouts on the Side of Bad:
Paula – She makes this list first because she insulted Max in her confessional interview. He’s a kid and that’s not okay and completely tacky.

J – He messes up the salads at yet another service, this time putting dressing on one that wasn’t supposed to have it.

Coi – She forgot about the burgers and ends up serving them cold and raw. The big issue is that all of the girls on her team see it and know it but they decide to let the burgers go to the pass anyway. Coi gets rattled by all the people around her and I would too.

Andrea – She’s super condescending in service. It’s not a good look, dear.

Who Wins, Who is Nominated and Who Goes Home:
After the staged bit with Francisco dropping the cake and blaming it on J.P., who throws a fit, the Harlem Globetrotters come out and surprise a very happy Max. The men win and Gordon gives Andrea the task of nominating two people. The girls are pissed as they all thought her to be the worst. Andrea tries to make amends with Carol and Carol tells her, “I wanted to punch you in the neck.” Andrea goes a bit overboard at this comment, leading to more head-butting between the two.

Andrea struggles to name nominees in front of Gordon, which angers him. She finally nominates Coi and L.A. for some reason. Everyone except for Paula stand up for Coi and L.A., saying that they thought Andrea was the worst. Gordon eliminates Coi anyway and she gets very emotional. I don’t think she deserved to go but Andrea aside, she probably was the weakest this week.

So, what did you think? Did you think Andrea was the worst or did Gordon make the right decision? And what did you think about the whole mess with J.P. and Francisco? Share your TwoCents with me in the comments!
