A group of kids are having a party in the woods, booze, fire and roasting marshmallows. A couple of others who where uninvited want to join them as well. But when they show up at the campfire, the other kids look up horrified when all of the sudden a wounded man struggles to reach them from behind. He is obviously hurt and covered in blood when he falls to the ground. He dies in the woods, in the middle of the area where the group of teenagers were having an after party.

At the NCIS headquarters Tony is sitting behind his desk obviously not working as usual. In fact he is pulling weird faces in front of his computer screen much to the amusement of Ziva and McGee. McGee at first doesn't even want to know what the hell he is doing but Ziva however can't wait to find out.

He tells them that he is participating in a challenge website where you can participate to be the best at 'something' or 'anything'. He is participating in a 'airguitar' contest and some other challenges. Before he is done talking about the website and explaining the concept of playing airguitar. McGee has found his way to the website and is giving one of the challenges his best shot. Much to the amusement of Tony. Who offers to help him out with the expression on his face when Gibbs joins his team. He tells them that they have a case, but not before he gives Tony and McGee a piece of his mind.

The team is called in to investigate the death of a young petty officer. Only to find a man who is showing wounds of a fight previous to the car crash. The car which belonged to the Petty officer shows paint on paint transfers and bullet holes, and is found crashed in a ditch in the woods. The car crash however was caused by a second car which pushed him off the road after it was being shot at. Someone really wanted this guy death, that much is obvious.

Ducky finds out that the petty officer was in a fight previously to his death, his wounds are partially healing but he still looked like he endured a mayor beating.

Quickly there are references made by Tony about the movie 'Fight Club'. Which is not that surprising in these circumstances. Turns out that the petty officer was indeed involved in a fight club. In the backyard of his house they find the evidence of a recent fight, including teeth which where knocked out and blood.

This episode was back to a lighter tone, after the latest couple of episodes I guess that we needed to have a lighter themed episode. But due to this fact I personally was more focussed on the jokes then the actual case. I loved the banter and the jokes, but I have to admit that somewhere along the line I lost track of the case. I haven't had the chance yet to watch the episode a second time so to be honest I am not really sure what exactly happened.

There was less seriousness and more jokes. Especially between the team members and a lot of references to television shows and movies. I loved the banter between Tony and Ziva and of course Tony and McGee. And Abby was on top of her game with the jokes.

The scene where Tony is acting all weird in front of his computer cracked me up. What a scene. I love the interaction between the team and how they can make the seriousness of the vicious crimes a lot lighter. Especially the serious reaction that Ziva gave him compared to McGee who is actually on the website as well acting all strange in front of his webcam.

And the scene where Abby and McGee are joking about who would win in a fight with Gibbs was funny. It was so Abby to keep on rambling, I missed those type of scenes lately.

In my opinion compared to the last couple of episodes this episode was not as exciting and there wasn't anything special in it. However that doesn't mean that it was a bad episode, not at all. It was just less special then the top episodes we had in the past couple of weeks.

That is just the way it is, in my opinion. Tell me what you thought of this episode? I am curious to see if other people felt the same way as I did.

  2. This has to be one of the worst reviews I've read. I get that you got wrapped up in the funnier moments of the show (which were nice to see), but if you're going to review a tv show, you should know what happened. If you don't remember, watch it again, or take notes next time.

  3. You might not like my review, I didn't like the episode. In my honest opinion the storyline was weak and not interesting.

So maybe my review shows exactly what I thought of the episode.
