  1. While visiting an old abandon house and the well nearby, Melinda finds that the ghost of a little girl is hanging around. Melinda must uncover the truth about the girl's death, which quickly proves to be tricky business. Sam also discovers something important about both his past and Jim's.

Jim's all moved into Melinda's garage by now, and even bringing her antiques for the shop. He brings her tiles he found at his job with a construction crew, tearing down an old house. Melinda accidentally cuts her hand on one of them and has a vision of a girl drowning. She then asks Jim to bring her where he found the tiles. He takes her to an old well, where Melinda again sees the ghost girl. Jim tosses in a coin, and the ghost warns him to be careful what he wishes for.

Back at the house, Jim has a sudden vision of himself being shot, and his shoulder starts aching. Are his memories slowly coming back now? Is that what he wished for? As Jim tells Melinda about the vision and his shoulder, she sees the ghost again and begins to think it's haunting Jim or Sam.

Melinda, after failing to correctly cook a chicken, has a heartfelt conversation with Delia about how much she misses Jim. Later that night, she has a nightmare that her arms and legs were cut off (which was a mildly creepy scene). The ghost girl appears in her bedroom and warns her to stay away from the well. This, of course, piques Mel's interest and she goes with Eli to investigate the house next to the well. In the middle of the night.

The two find cut up dolls and note with wishes written on them. Some wish for dolls or puppies, but one reads, "I wish he could know she was here."

Jim tells Melinda that the woman who last lived in the house was a widow. She passed away and now her son Travis Ackerman owns the home. Eli talks to him. He says the neighborhood kids used to make wishes at the well. He'd find broken dolls when he lived there and then replace them with new ones, trying to be nice.

At 18, Travis got a scholarship. At the same time, he discovered his girlfriend was pregnant. They were right in front of the well when he wished aloud that she weren't pregnant. She ran out into the road and was hit by a biker. She lost the baby; he went to college and never saw her again.

Upon Eli's request, he has the well drained. The find Gretchen Dennis's body: the ghost girl. She'd been missing for 12 years. At the scene, as Eli explains this to Melinda, she has a vision of a boy missing one arm, saying "help me!"

At the memorial for Gretchen, Gretchen is screaming at her brother, Clay, that she hates him. She says he's the reason she's dead.

Eli finds that there was no evidence that Gretchen's body had been dismembered. He and Melinda think that maybe Clay threw his sister into the well.

Next, we see Clay at a meat packaging place, delivering boxes. He drops one as he gets on an elevator. As he reaches out to get it, the elevator doors close on his arm. And then they cut to a commercial.

Melinda talks to Eli, who says he called Clay but got no answer. Jim makes Melinda waffles the way that the old Jim used to make them. Aw... Then Jim asks why she was so curious about the well just before the body was found. He asks if she's psychic. She laughs and says no.

Eli shows Melinda a picture of a younger Clay, and she finds that he's from the vision she had of the boy missing an arm.

Melinda goes to talk to Clay, who does still have his arm. He says that he was so mean to Gretchen. He'd hide her dolls and break them, cutting off the limbs with the saw in the basement. One day he read Gretchen's diary and found a page with impressions from another page that had been ripped out. Gretchen had written that she wanted Clay to lose his arms and legs. He came to her the next day, apparently bleeding with his arm missing. She ran from the house before Clay pulled his arm out of his shirt and revealed fake blood. Clay says she ran off and never came back.

Melinda runs into Gretchen, who is still angry. Clay would give anything to take back what he did. Gretchen says that there are no take-backs when it comes to the well.

In the garage, while going through Sam's old things, Jim finds a key and a letter.

Melinda puts the tiles back into place at the well. She turns around to face Travis, Clay, and Gretchen. Gretchen took the note from her diary and tucked it in the well. She went to take it back out, but fell in while trying to reach it and drowned. They're both sorry, and Gretchen says she really forgives Clay.

The last pieces of our puzzle come together Gretchen reveals the meaning of the "I wish he could know she was here" note is discovered. After twelve years, Travis sees his girlfriend Alison again, and their daughter. Alison had said she lost the child so Travis could continue to college.

Before she crosses over, Gretchen tells Mel she gave "Sam" a piece of his life back, too.

Back at the house, Jim tells Melinda he found a key that went to a safety deposit box. Inside he found a diamond ring. However, he doesn't know who it was for.

What an ending, right? So... what did you think? Give your two cents!

  2. ok, so first of all, what the heck will happen when we find out who he was going to marry? Oh my God...what will this do to Mel?
In my own opinion....I think we need to get rid of Eli...I really don't like him, not the best of acting talent out there. We need to bring back the professor.
