As is to be expected with a large ensemble cast, there will always be a Walker on the fringe. That Walker always seems to be Tommy. Who in this episode, served just for occasional comic relief, when it was discovered that he knows way too much about fertility treatments. Will Tommy have to cheat on his wife again in order to have a story line?

As is to be expected with a large ensemble cast, there will always be a Walker on the fringe. That Walker always seems to be Tommy. Who in this episode, served just for occasional comic relief, when it was discovered that he knows way too much about fertility treatments. Will Tommy have to cheat on his wife again in order to have a story line?

Speaking of fertility, Kitty receives not one but two blows this week. The first one being that Robert, after meeting with Senator Taylor decides to take on the VP spot. Kitty is angry that she’s losing her husband to an ambition so strong, that he’s willing to compromise his beliefs. Robert takes this into consideration, and after another conversation with Taylor, he realizes that Kitty is right, and that he doesn’t want to compromise. So Robert ends up walking away from the ticket. Senator Taylor, tells off Kitty, warning her that after Robert sits with his decision for a while, he’s going to end up blaming Kitty for standing between him and the White House. Kitty doesn’t need to hear this BS, especially, after the doctor called her and told her that she has no viable embryos.

The Walker siblings gather for a weekend brunch at Nora’s, in an attempt to cheer her up after her separation from Isaac. But she insists she doesn’t need any cheering up, although she might just be hiding the grief by redecorating with her interior designer – which is apparently how she deals with stressful situations. Jane, the interior director, offers some new and bold ways to go, but Nora doesn’t feel comfortable with any of them. So Jane asks, what is it that she wants . . . and a few days later, after meeting a mother at a children’s cancer benefit, Nora figures out what she wants - create a home away from home for families of children receiving Cancer treatment. So instead of making new cabinets or tearing up the backyard, Nora’s going to use her tremendous wealth to be a philanthropist. Sarah offers up Ojai Foods as a sponsor for the project.

But she might not be able to cover the sponsorship. Saul ended up going behind Sarah’s back and signed the Golden Plum Expansion deal. Sarah is PISSED. But Saul, knows what he’s doing, he’s been working at the company before Sarah and Tommy were born. Don’t you think he knows what he’s doing? But Sarah’s got trust issues with men, and thinks that both Graham and Saul went behind her back on the deal. Graham didn’t, and Sarah, after talking with Nora, realizes that she needs to have trust in the two men she’s in business with. But after her apology, Saul and Graham reveal to her that Golden Plum went bankrupt, and Ojai Foods s in danger of losing everything.

Meanwhile, Kevin does something practical. Scotty ends up slicing his hand in half (basically) at work. The stiches and the meds leave him with a hefty hospital bill - Scotty can’t afford health insurance. Kevin, being outraged at this social injustice, offers up the option of becoming domestic partners (just sign some forms, then you’re set!). But Scotty doesn’t want to be practical, he wants his wedding day to be special. So, they decide not to get married . . . at least for now. Even though I miss Jason, I must admit, seeing Kevin and Scotty in a domestic rhythm with each other, makes me once again, like them together, even if Scotty can’t be bothered to actually open his mouth when he talks. But maybe he hurt his teeth, and well, he doesn’t have dental insurance either.

Finally, I’ve been saving the best for last. The results are in for Rebecca’s paternity test. It turns out that painfully obvious, turns out to be true. Rebecca’s real birth father is indeed a deadbeat director. She confronts David about the revelation, and he promises to make everything ok. So, he leaves, never telling Holly that Rebecca knows the truth.

Rebecca in turn, has made the awkward tension between her and Justin even more awkward. When he asks about the results, she lies and tells him that they’re still brother and sister. Justin is relieved . . . right? I mean, he takes her surfing, brings her coffee, and gives her a brotherly hug complete with a pat on the back. But something’s off. He pauses before hugging her, and lingers to long on her leg as he straps on the surf board. But, I guess because the audience knows the truth, it may make things feel a little less like one is watching incest. But, to be perfectly honest, scenes between the two of them never gave off the sibling vibe. Wouldn’t you agree?

The previews for next week show things really coming to a head, which is great because Double Negative left quite a few cliff-hangers. Justin in no way believes that Rebecca is his sister, which is going to be so awkward to watch when things blow up for the two of them. I can just picture it:

“I like you, but you’re my sister.” Justin leans in for a kiss . . .

“Screw you, Justin!” Rebecca pulls away and runs off. Justin checks into rehab again.

Ok, it won’t really go like that, I have trust that the writers have a better way of handling this story line which could definitely end up going into Soap Land.
Also, let’s hope that there was a clause in the Ojai-Golden Plum expansion that lets them pull out if Golden Plum goes under. Otherwise, yeesh . . . I don’t even know what would happen.

Well, that’s my recap and review...Any questions, comments, concerns?
