Gates is let back into the E.R., but starts to feel the pace of the E.R. eat away at him. Now, I need to say a few things about John Stamos. His acting is absolutely brilliant. His character is well rounded, fitting into the troubled but confident doctor role. However, I feel like the whole hustle and bustle of the show covers this up. So, I just want to spotlight it for a moment.
Hopefully this isn't a false alarm again but *crosses fingers*, Luka comes back next week. What's he going to say when he finds out Abby's drinking again?
Neela gets an intern that's well, a bit on the young side and needs work on bedside manner as well. Harold (Steven Christopher Parker) is a 19 year old intern that likes to spout off numbers of statistics, thinking that everyone likes to know the odds, or just isn't thinking about it. She is told to be strict with him but realizes that she is being too strict with him when he makes a phone call and she overhears him admitting that maybe he cannot handle being a doctor. Neela tells him that she will be nicer, but that he needs to play along with the act while in front of her supervisors.
And, whoa, wait a minute! Is this a softer, weaker side of Moretti that we are seeing? He's being kind to Gates, he's confiding in Abby about his son ... where's the tough guy who runs the E.R. with strict discipline and makes snide remarks to all the doctors? Maybe the writers thought they made the character a bit too tough.
