  1. This week, Stabler and Fin investigate a serial murderer and rapist who tortures his victims. Detective Moran (Delroy Lindo) from the Major Crimes Unit shows up, claiming this is his case and that he works alone. Stabler’s never one to back down and works the case with Moran and Fin.

Five Things About This Week’s Episode:

    1. This episode was so graphic, I needed to watch something lighter after. SVU is always a little bit graphic but when they cross the line into extremely graphic for network TV, I always think they go too far. The victims had their mouths glued shut, something you couldn’t exactly forget because it had to have been repeated about twenty times throughout the episode. We also got to see the tortured, bound, dead victims and it was just way too disturbing for me.

    2. Delroy Lindo guest starred as the solo working detective Moran. Usually, I’m not a fan when guest stars play detectives who try to shut out the Special Victims Unit. After all, it is their show! However, Detective Moran was interesting and I liked the way he butted heads and conflicted with Stabler and Fin. We’ve seen it before, a detective with a daughter or wife in the hospital, a hard-headed guy who is fighting because he doesn’t know what else to do, but it worked in this episode for me.

    3. I loved the twist about Ocurro’s mother. When we found out she was his alibi, it seemed like a typical mother defending her son, no matter how much she knows he’s guilty or is in denial about it. So, I was really impressed when Stabler visits her and not only does she not like her son, she is afraid of him and thinks he should have been sent to prison a long time ago. She’s his alibi because he was actually there the whole time and that’s a new one for me. She even called her bridge club so she wasn’t alone with him. Wow.

    4. The whole episode was well written, despite being way too graphic for me. The way the case was worked and was unraveled was interesting and kept me engaged the entire way. I loved when Moran and Stabler interrogated Ocurro and he’s smiling the entire time, until they tell him his apartment’s being searched. They just wiped the smile right off. The alibi being broken apart by the detectives figuring out the kiln was used to speed up decomposition was really nice. We knew the victim had a ceramics studio but I didn’t think about the kiln. Also, Ocurro being a lost airline baggage deliverer, that was perfect but absolutely terrifying.

    5. What is with Stabler? So, they catch Ocurro in the act and the poor woman is tied up with her mouth glued shut and all Stabler does is put his coat over her. Yes, that’s a nice gesture but she’s still tied up in a terrible position and I’m sure she would have appreciated being cut free. Olivia would have done so immediately. That’s just faulty writing but you’d think someone on the set that day would have thought that was weird.

So, what did you think? Was it too graphic for you too or did it not bother you? Did you like Delroy Lindo in this episode? Tell me your TwoCents on anything SVU in the comments!
