  1. No, nobody’s singing songs from the Broadway musical (Decide for yourself whether to be disappointed or relieved). Instead, Christine brings lice into Ritchie’s school. She is humiliated, so she takes him to a public school- where she humiliates herself.

Christine takes Ritchie to school, but he stopped to be checked for lice. To his approval, he has them, and he and Christine are sent away. Marly and Lindsey arrive, sure their girls are resistant to such things. They are proven wrong. Outside the school, as the infected are being publicly ostracized, blame for the arrival of lice is placed squarely on Christine.

She comes to rant at Matthew and Richard and vows to finally remove Ritchie from his evil institution once and for all. She leaves them in charge of lice removal, but with her gone, Matthew is terrified over having to cut his hair while Richard is hopeful he could have lice and ignores the fact that it would be, well, difficult for him to get them. Christine heads off to the new school to meet the principal and a parent and assures them that the rest of her family will be less awkward than she was- which isn’t saying much. Later, Matthew and Richard cover their hair in oil and plastic wrap to kill potential lice. Christine comes in and raves about the new school. Now she can afford actual food.

Before Ritchie can leave his old school, Christine must show everyone there up with a dramatic exit. She tells off the Meanie Moms and the principal and runs into the sunlight…except things seemed doomed straight away when Matthew and Richard meet her at the new place, their hair limp and greasy and yet, somehow, stiff. Things get worse and then, low and behold, Richard has lice. They are thrown out to the street yet again. They recover, Richard celebrates, and Christine realizes she is going to have to grovel. Fortunately, the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad school is very forgiving. And so Christine starts to cry out of happiness.

What did you think of this episode? It was mostly filler, but we’re almost to the season finale- time. Certain characters will return, and the wedding will finally take place. Speculate and discuss in comments!

What Old Christine Taught Me This Week:
    1. Lice are a Big. Damn. Deal.
    2. Matthew has a butt head.
    3. Real mayonnaise is rare in Christine’s home
    4. Anyone can get lice - anyone.
    5. Christine never gets a break - but its usually her fault.
