This week’s episode got split up into five different parts, separated with a black title screen. Lucas and Peyton have trouble with the baby, Millie and Mouth say their final goodbyes, Nathan and Haley spend their anniversary together, Julian spooks Brooke and Dan, Deb and Jamie all spend an evening together.

    “The Surprise”
Peyton comes home from the hospital and insists on seeing the surprise Lucas had set up for her. Surprise, surprise, it’s a nursery and based on whatever bad news she’s just gotten, it upsets her. At first, it seems as if she’s lost the baby but then they turn it around to be that if she has the baby, she could die. Peyton insists she’s having the baby and Lucas says he doesn’t want to lose her. Cue a big argument where Peyton accuses Lucas of guilting her into an abortion and she calls him selfish and a dick. This leads into a big discussion about fate and finally she says she needs “to know we’re making the right decision” and new baby Scott kicks her hard.

    “The Long Goodbye”
Millie comes to get the rest of her stuff and she’s had laser eye surgery. Mouth makes an insensitive joke about it and shows her his phone bill with all the charges from texting with Gigi. Three hundred dollars to be exact, which is ridiculous. He says he drove her away and that she deserves to be the angry one. Mouth wants to start over as they are now but Millie says she has to leave so she can forgive herself.

    “The Seven Year Itch”
It’s Haley and Nathan’s seventh anniversary and they’re spending it in a house up for sale in Charleston. Haley suggests moving there and Nathan thinks she should go on tour again. Um, that wasn’t such a great idea last time, now was it? They both talk about having more kids and share a fun, light-hearted evening together.

    “The Deleted Scene”
Julian tells Brooke he loves her and she freaks out, implying she hasn’t been in love since Lucas. I seem to remember her saying she loved Chase but I guess she doesn’t. Brooke doesn’t want to get hurt, doesn’t want to say it and they dance around it for far too long. Julian proposes they forget it, that it’s their deleted scene and he nearly cries when she goes to clean up.

    “The Cold War”
Welcome to Dan and Deb’s night from hell. Jamie invited Dan and Deb tries to make nice with him after Jamie goes to bed She looks at the photo album with him but all goes downhill when she gets to Keith’s photo. Dan blames Keith’s death on Deb, saying “I pulled the trigger but you loaded the gun.” Once again, Dan can’t be accountable for his actions. Big surprise. They’re yelling and I don’t see any way possible how Jamie couldn’t have heard. Jamie walks out into the scene, smiling, to give Dan his heart transplant beeper, which is going off. How he misplaced that again, I’ll never understand.

At the end of this mess, Haley and Nathan are celebrating, Millie is crying and driving, Mouth sits in their apartment and mourns Millie’s glasses, Lucas is scared, Peyton is determined and Julian gets jealous over a photo of Brooke, Lucas and Angie, fakes a phone call and bails.

I’m going to be honest with you. I hated this episode. Never watch it. It was terrible. I’ve had more fun at the dentist. It was so over the top and sported some supremely soap opera writing that I couldn’t stand it. Did you think so too? I’m so curious to know what people thought about this one.
