Tonight brings the arrival of Marly and Lindsey’s babies. And memories of Ritchie’s birth for Christine and Richard, which sparks feelings between them. If you’re wondering why this seems familiar, it’s because they’ve done it about three times before.
Ritchie’s class is on a trip to the planetarium, accompanied by Christine and both of the Meanie Moms. They force her to switch chairs and she notices theirs are wet. These two can’t even go into labor without doing it together. At the hospital, Christine sets up to leave them alone- but they beg her not to leave. Apparently treating her like crap is how they mark her as friend, and she’s the only one who will be there for them.
Christine calls Matthew and Richard, out tuxedo shopping while the latter wears a completely absurd hairpiece. She herself is busy taking care of Marly and Lindsey, now in good moods thanks to the wonders of drugs. The men show up, toupee and all, and Christine immediately sends Matthew in to help. According to her recollection, Richard was a total wreck when she gave birth. He begs to differ, but to no avail- Matthew’s out of the room and traumatized in two minutes flat, but she shoves him right back it
Unfortunately, Christine can’t keep Matthew in the delivery area (he’s doing that gagging thing he did when his therapist said he was too close to Christine), so she goes in to help on her own. Soon, she’s equally as hysterical as they are. And so Richard shows up to save the day. No, really. He calms all three of them down like he’s a doctor on ER. And this gets Christine attracted to him like he’s . . . a doctor on ER. The fact does nothing to help Matthew’s nausea. He battles with Christine on the subject all the way home, but Richard shows up saying he feels the same way. The births completely forgotten, they begin to make moves on each other. But Matthew is either a brilliant therapist or just smarter than either of the others (guess which), because with very little provocation on his part, Christine and Richard are soon at each other’s throats, same as ever.
So this is the third time the Richard/New Christine wedding was almost screwed over. Do you really think they can make it? And will we ever actually get to see the new babies? Talk about the episode in comments!
What Old Christine Taught Me This Week:
1. Christine’s life and dentist suck, but she’s not a druggie, so it’s okay
2. When they go to golf in Scotland, they never come back
3. Matthew would have been the worst doctor ever
4. Bad memories are why divorces work
5. Christine and Richard should learn their lesson already
