As Jack Bauer’s 7th really long day continues, he finds himself on the run.. again. Will anyone in Washington ever believe that Jack is one of the good guys?

Morris O’Brien shows up at FBI headquarters looking for Chloe. He is just finding out that she’s been arrested. Janis tells him that Larry will update him when he gets back.

    9:05

Jack looks at the security tape from the hospital and sees Quinn on it. He calls into Renee (who is packing her bags due to suspension) and asks her to ID the perpetrator for him. She reluctantly agrees to help. Elsewhere, Jonas and Greg find out that Jack escaped from the hospital. Jonas tells Greg that it won’t matter soon because in an hour the shipment of weapons will be arriving. Renee calls Jack back and gives him the skinny on Quinn. He has been linked to a defense company named Starkwood that Senator Mayer has been investigating. (Boy, that Senator is a busy fella). She gives him Mayer’s address to see what he can find. Then Larry comes in to check in and he realizes that she’s spoken to Jack. He asks Janis to check her phone log and activity in the previous 15 minutes because he thinks that she will be the best lead to Jack now.

    9:15

Ethan updates President Taylor on the situation with Jack while Olivia challenges his handling of it. Meanwhile, Renee starts to leave the office and is stopped by security headed up by Larry. He demands to know where Jack is. She tells him that she believes Jack and won’t help Larry find him. He puts her in holding along with Chloe. Later, Senator Mayer arrives home after a long day only to find Jack there. Jack tells Mayer about his theory and Mayer tells him that he couldn’t find a connection between Starkwood and Juma. Jack tells him that he still wants to go through what files he has on Starkwood to find out for himself.

    9:29

During the latest Presidential address, a reporter challenges Ethan about Jack & Burnett. He tells him he will run the story about the incident and his approval of it. He issues a ‘no comment’ to him, and then goes over to Olivia. He tells her that he thinks she was the one who leaked this to the press. Of course, she denies doing this. Janis goes to Larry to tell him she can’t break the wall from Renee’s message to Jack to see where he was going. Larry decides to go to Morris and offer Chloe full immunity if he helps them decode the message. He doesn’t believe that Jack is guilty, but takes the deal to save Chloe. Morris is able to decode it in a minute and they learn where Jack is located.

    9:40

As Larry prepares the raid on Mayer’s house, Morris is defending his choice to help them to Chloe who has now been released. He tells her that as important as Jack is, their family is more important to him. Back at Mayer’s house, Jack finds the connection between Juma and Starkwood. He tells the Senator that Starkwood had developed some WMD’s and Juma offered the opportunity to test them on the people of Sangala, which he was trying to take over. Mayer and Jack finally are able to connect when they talk about regret, and what conspiracies are at work. As the police start knocking on his door, he asks Jack to trust him. But when Mayer answers the door he gets shot! It turns out that it’s not the police, but Quinn! Jack escapes from the house as Quinn chases him.

    9:53

Olivia comes to the Oval Office with Ethan by the President’s side. She asks Olivia if she leaked the information about Bauer and she denies it again. She tells them both that she made a deal with the reporter to kill the story. Jack finds his way to a construction site with Quinn still in hot pursuit. Quinn enters a trailer and shoots up the place with the hope that he hits Jack. But it turns out that Jack is in a tractor outside and flips the entire trailer on its side. Quinn comes out and the fisticuffs begin. After a long fight Jack dispels Quinn with a screwdriver to the chest. Jack asks him when the weapons are coming before Quinn dies and he simply answers, “They’re already here”. Jack finds the dock information in Quinn’s phone and calls Tony to have him meet at that location. Meanwhile, Larry arrives at Mayer’s house and gives a new order… if someone finds Jack they are now to shoot to kill.

This episode wasn’t as dramatic as last episode, but it did have its moments. It was nice to see Senator Mayer finally showing some remorse for Jack and the sacrifices that he’s made for the country. I thought their exchange about ethics and service might have been the best segment of the episode. Well… OTHER than the fist fight. That’s why we watch, no?

What did YOU think? And who do you think is the secret traitor between Ethan and Olivia? They are making it look like it’s Ethan, but do you think they’re tricking us again? Your two cents is always appreciated.
