He is acting tough trying out different guns until he shoots with an automatic gun which empties a magazine in mere seconds into the walls and windows of an abandoned building. Gibbs tells his team to gear up that they have a crime scene in a bad neighborhood and that they are responding to gun fire. Ziva points out that if they responded each time gun fire was heard in that neighborhood they would have a lot more cases. Gibbs tells them that metro responded to the crime scene and that they called in the help of NCIS.

One the rooftop they find a number written on the wall in blood, McGee says that he will track down what the number is. Gibbs tells him that he doesn't have to bother because it is his service number. He then leaves the crime scene to take care of something.

Soon Franks is back in DC because he has information on the scene according to Gibbs, I think that Gibbs calls in Franks' help every chance he gets just because he knows that it annoys Vance. And Franks' doesn't seem to mind it one bit because he knows that just showing up makes Vance want to bite his toothpick in half.

Franks reveals that he brought Rosa a Colombian woman to DC. The woman saved Gibbs life when he was wounded during a black ops operation, she hid him from a Colombian drugs cartel until he was nursed back to health. Gibbs came back to DC and got married. Franks helped Rosa and her one year old son escape Columbia a year later. Rosa didn't want Gibbs to know.

Franks and Gibbs try to find Rosa but they find out that she died ten years ago. A woman who helps kids in the neighborhood became the legal guardian of Rosa's son Tomas, who is now a Marine.

It turns out that Tomas and the man they found on the rooftop where friends and former gang members who tried to clean up their act and joined the marines. They where forced by people from their past to steal weapons. To force Tomas they shot and killed his friend.

This episode was clearly about Gibbs' past, revealing yet again some bits and pieces. And the question of the episode of course was whether or not the young marine Tomas was Gibbs' son. Everyone expected the answer to the question would be yes, but it remained unclear till the very last minute of the episode.

I really liked this episode. Tony teasing McGee about how he should take a message when he picks up someone else's telephone. And of course demonstrating it to McGee with Gibbs' phone. Ziva who was back in her role of mysterious Mossad ninja assassin. Abby all excited because she heard a thing which was not really a thing about Gibbs in Colombia back in 1991. And Tony being as curious as ever finally finding out who the mystery woman was who didn't leave her number with McGee. And of course Vance who can't help himself and wants to know every step the team takes and who seems to take great pleasure in annoying Gibbs with his prying eyes. And who on his turn invites Franks. All moments which made the episode memorable.

But let me give you my two cents and my honest opinion the ending of the episode was a little weak. It seemed as if they where almost done with writing the episode when they realized that blaming Tomas for stealing the weapons and the murder wouldn't be such a good idea after they made us believe that he was Gibbs' son. So they decided to switch it all around and blame this woman who tries to help people and really has the best interest at hard but goes about it the wrong way.

That ending really didn't sit well with me, although the rest of the episode made up for it in a big way.
