This week, Lucas and Julian struggle to find a decent director for the movie, one that actually understands the tone of the movie. One director wants to make it very gritty and when Lucas protests, the director shouts, “This is the only place I can see our climatic scene happening! This is the spot where Lucas’s rival gang kills his uncle Keith in a drive by shooting.” Lucas just simply says, “Okay. I’m done here,” and walks away. At lunch, Julian’s father tells them if they don’t pick one of the six faulty directors within the next day, he will pick one for them.

Meanwhile, Nathan’s got troubles over at the Charleston Chiefs. The new 23, Devon, brags about all of the points he scored in the game, even though they lost because he can’t share the ball. Nathan confronts the coach about Devon’s lack of assists and refusal to be a part of a team. The coach points out that Nathan is not the coach, which is how he’s acting. Jamie makes a phone call to Nathan’s coach and explains to him that basketball isn’t “just about x’s and o’s. It’s about heart.” At the next game, Devon refuses to pass the ball at the end to another player and is benched. Nathan gets put in and makes the winning…pass to the player who sinks the shot.

Julian and Brooke make out. A lot. They also get caught by Sam. Peyton warns Brooke that right after he broke up with her, Julian slept with another girl while he was away at Sundance. Later, she finds out that wasn’t true, tells Brooke and oh, all is well once more in the love lives of those in Tree Hill. I’m a bit twitchy on the idea of Brooke and Julian though. It’s a bit hypocritical for Brooke to be with Julian in any respect, since she blew off Owen claiming she had to focus on being a mother to Sam. At the time, I thought she meant what she said and it was a perfectly reasonable excuse but now it seems like Brooke didn’t think Owen was the guy for her. If this is the last season of One Tree Hill and if Brooke is to end up with someone by the end of the season, I want her to find someone who makes sense for her, someone that makes her feel every bit as wonderful as Nathan can make Haley feel. I just don’t see that happening with Julian.

My favorite moment of the episode was when Lucas, with a grand gesture and on one knee, proposes to Haley just like how one of the directors wanted him to in the movie. Haley protests, “That is so creepy on so many levels.” Agreed but it was really funny. Lucas proposes again to Peyton, once with a ring that doesn’t mean anything to either of them and another time with the ring they both actually wanted her to have, Keith’s ring.

Speaking of Lucas, he wins with the best bit of dialogue of the night: “I want a director who can recreate the feeling I get every time I step out onto the river court at night. I want someone who can explain to the audience why one song can instantly change Peyton's mood. Someone who can recognize that there are two completely different sides to Brooke Davis, both of which are amazing. I want a director who can make the little things the big things.”

Unfortunately, he says this to one of the worst directors, played by James Van Der Beek, who uses it word for word to get the job from Julian’s father. Oh, dear. And now, I suppose we have a few weeks of James Van Der Beek getting under everyone’s skin to look forward to.

So, what did you think? Are you as worried about the Unkindness of Ravens movie as I am? And what do you think about Brooke and Julian? Tell me your TwoCents in the comments!
