  1. The orders from the FBI are that Tony Almeida must be brought in alive, since he is the only known link to retrieving the CIP device. Meanwhile, Jack and he are still trying to break into the panic room with Emerson to get to Motabo. They need to get him if they want a chance to confront Dubaku. Maybe Motabo isn’t the only one who needs to panic?

Renee admits to Larry that she tortured Tanner to get the info on the attack on Motabo. He orders her to return but she tells him she has to finish fixing the problem that she caused first. (That is very Jack Bauer-like, eh?)

Meanwhile, Emerson threatens to kill Motabo’s guard if he doesn’t come out of the room. But before Emerson can pull the trigger his cell phone rings showing that the FBI is calling. Now they only have 15 minutes to either leave or get Motabo out. Jack comes up with the idea to make a homemade gas to try to flush him out.

Jack puts his plan into action and makes a gas to blow into the panic room. Soon Renee makes it to Motabo’s house to investigate. Soon Motabo’s wife gives in to the gas and opens the door to the room. While they’re loading the Motabo’s in their vehicle, Renee gets caught by one of Emerson’s men. Emerson wants to kill Renee on the spot, but Jack stops him from doing it. He tells Emerson that she may know too much about their operation and they should keep her alive to question her.

President Taylor finally makes her decision about the Sangala situation. She decides to not call off the invasion of the country. She feels that she needs to not give in to the demands of terrorists. Right after the decision, she hears about the abduction of Motabo and now knows that this is the new priority. Dubaku’s deadline is 30 minutes away, and she orders her staff to make sure that Motabo is found before then. Meanwhile, Emerson discovers that Renee only knew about the kidnapping plan and nothing else. She is now expendable and Emerson is ordered to kill her before they bring Motabo in to see Dubaku.

The First Gentleman and Brian enter an apartment to look for clues to Roger’s demise. Henry realizes that he’s in Samantha’s apartment and starts to feel woozy. That’s right… Brian is one of the bad guys. And we knew it! He drugged his coffee with a muscle relaxer so Henry falls to the floor and can’t move. Brian’s plan is to have Samantha come back to the apartment and they’d kill her. Then make it look like she was killed by Henry and then he took his own life. A second man tells Samantha that she is in danger and will bring her back to her apartment.

A man from the Attorney General’s office is looking to question Renee for her actions with Tanner. Larry argues that she needs to be rescued before she’ll be able to be prosecuted. Janis intercepts Emerson’s phone call and orders to kill Renee. Janis believes that Larry has feelings for Renee and is worried about her safety. Larry demands that they continue to try to trace the call. At the same time the van arrives at the construction site. Emerson asks Jack to kill Renee. As he whisks her out to a ditch, he whispers in her ear that she’ll have to trust him. He shoots her neck and it appears that he kills her in front of Emerson. However, Emerson then orders Jack and Tony to bury her. As they bury her, the clock shows 12:59.

As always, this show graces us with many intense situations and their associated cliffhangers. It’s amazing that it’s been able to carry this concept on this level for 7 seasons now. I think that Renee is a good addition so far, and I hope she makes it through this one. Something tells me that she will. What are your thoughts on the subject? And, do you think that Dubaku with strike next episode?
