Lucas goes to L.A. to meet with the producer of the movie, who wants to make lots of changes, including killing Haley or having Lucas end up with Haley. Can we leave Haley out of this? For added kicks, James Van Der Beek plays the cracked out producer. Thankfully, Lucas refuses to kill off or end up with Haley. Meanwhile, Peyton is suffering from major abdominal pain and goes to see a doctor who asks if she has a family history of cancer. She spends the rest of the episode blowing up at Mia, who hasn’t been writing songs for her new album. Just when it looks like Peyton might apologize, she tells Mia that maybe this isn’t the right label for her. Ouch.

Brooke catches Sam trying to sneak a boy out of her window in the morning and later tells Sam how she was attacked in her store. Sam and the boy, who is just her friend and seems quite disgruntled about it, meet up at the diner. She explains she never meant any of the awful things she said about Brooke after shoplifting from her store and he tells her that he took it seriously when she said Brooke had to pay. And we’ve found our attacker. Sort of. A very upset Sam confesses to Brooke she knows who attacked her and says it’s her fault. She gives Brooke back the designs for the new line and runs out. As the episode ends, we see Sam getting in her friend’s brother’s car, who is the guy that shot Quentin. I’m not sure whether Sam’s friend or his brother beat up Brooke but my money’s on his brother. Either way, it’s not a good situation and that brother was as shady as he could possibly be as he drove off. Oh, Sam.

Brooke realizes she should have gone after Sam and rushes to Owen to ask for help. He tells her Sam isn’t really her kid and she would have left eventually anyway. Owen, you’re an idiot. Two steps forward and five hundred steps back. That’s just bad writing. I refuse to believe that guy would be that stupid. He’s leaving the door open for Julian, who seems to be interested in Brooke and aids in the search for Sam, without telling Brooke. She finds out though since it’s Brooke and it works for this Julian isn’t as terrible as we thought road we seem to be headed down. I don’t like it. If Brooke ends up with Julian, I’m going to go insane. That just leads to yet another Lucas and Peyton mess and I really hoped we were past all that by now.

Nathan goes to an NBA combine, uninvited but manages to be allowed to try out anyway. He gets a lot of flack from another player but Nathan uses it and does amazingly well. He jumps higher, runs faster, holds his arms up longer but oh wait, he’s shorter than the other guys. Still, he goes for point guard, even though they placed him with the shooting guards. Nathan’s an amazing shooting guard but as Quentin told him in a flashback, he’s too short to be a shooting guard in the NBA. So, Nathan gives it his all and through a great scene with his voiceover and freezing to explain the underestimating mistakes the other player is making, it’s clear yet again just how awesome Nathan Scott is.

Back in Tree Hill, Jamie participates in the school talent show. He wanted to tell jokes but Haley taught him a song on the piano. Jamie decides to do his own thing and plays the song and stops to tell jokes. Mouth somehow makes it to the performance, after being held up by Gigi, who wanted him to attend her going away party. Yes, go away. He gives her his shirt, the one she was wearing when she was passed out in his bed. She takes a photo of herself in the shirt, posed seductively on the newsdesk and sends it to his phone during Jamie’s show. Mouth doesn’t delete it. Millie finds it, throws the phone at him and leaves him. She gave you heaps of chances and you blew it. Moron. Millie and Owen meet at the bar and after confessing that he hasn’t had a drink in quite a few years and she’s never had sex, they decide to leave together. Oh, dear.

A lot of crazy happened and fast. I’m most curious to see what happens to Sam but I’m also really worried about Millie. So what did you think? Tell me your TwoCents in the comments!
