Have you ever kept a diary or journal? Well, Kitty did while they were on the campaign trail. She jotted down notes and little stories. A friend of hers edited it together for her into a book. Robert has heard a rumor of a book out there and asked her to find out who wrote it. Now she's nervous about telling him.
The Walker's are all up in the air, as usual. Justin is having trouble consummating his relationship with Rebecca so he turns to Sarah for advice. Kitty is stressing about a visit from the social worker. Holly is trying to find out information about this “other woman”. She approaches Sal and he asked if this was really bothering her. When she nods he says “Good. Now you know how Nora felt when she found out about you.” Kevin is searching for new clients and asks Nora if she'd decided about contacting him. She says she is focusing on Kitty and her baby right now. Kitty confesses to Kevin about “accidentally” writing a book. Holly is making a power play at Ojai forcing Sarah to do her bidding.
Kitty leaves and Kevin digs into her bag, finding the book, starts reading. A while later, he gets interrupted by Nora so he quick hides the book back in Kitty's bag. Kitty calls about missing her bag and asks her mom to bring it to her. When Nora picks the bag up, the books falls out. Of course, being Nora, she can't resist seeing what it is and starts reading. Just before the social worker arrives, she tells Robert that she wrote the book. They proceed with the social worker meeting and it's painful. Kitty is very nervous and just can't stop talking.
Nora gets lost in reading the book and Justin comes in to smoke rolling out of the oven. Nora starts ranting about Kitty's book. Justin comes to Kitty's defense until Nora reads what she wrote about him. Justin freaks and calls Sarah and faxes her copies of what she wrote about her. Sarah shows it to Tommy and they call Kevin to tell him. They are all very upset. They decide to go to dinner and deal with the book after the dinner. They arrive at Kitty's and as they enter, they all make snide comments to her relating to her description of them in the book. Do you see that light there at the end of the tunnel? No, it's not the end of the tunnel, it's the train coming right for us.
Everyone sits for dinner and it really does go from bad to worse. Something is wrong with the food. Nora knocks a glass of wine onto the social worker to keep her from hitting eating the food. The social worker leaves saying she'll be in touch. When they return to the dining room, Nora attacks Kitty and Robert jumps all over them. My favorite line being “I know how you're feeling. I know how all of you feel because the minute you have a feeling you start spewing with complete disregard like a bunch of children. You're adults. Get a filter.” Then he tells everyone to leave and Kitty gives Robert the book to read before heading to bed.
Justin and Rebecca decide to get a hotel room so they can go surfing the next day. Justin is freaking out completely thinking about sex. Rebecca sits down and says she needs to talk to him. Justin jumps up saying he can't have sex with her. She agrees and says that she wants it to be different with him and wants it to be about them. Then tells him that her mom signed the $2Mil trust that she wasn't supposed to get until she's 25. She knows it's to try to buy her back but says that her mother was a mistress for 20 years for that money and it's dirty money. She doesn't want it.
Kitty takes the dishes left from dinner to Nora's house. Nora confesses that she felt like their Dad had always been the center of the family but with the adoption, she was seeking Nora's advice, that she was valuing Nora. But then she read what Kitty had written and realized that she just saw her as a caricature. Kitty told her she was wrong and gave her the book back. She said she wanted her to actually read it... but especially to read the first page. It read “This book is dedicated to Nora Walker. My mother who taught me how to fight and how to stand up for who I am. Without her, this book wouldn't be possible.” It's a warm fuzzy moment.
Rebecca heads over to see Nora. She gives Nora the paperwork for the trust saying that they should keep it for Ryan. Nora explains that they will never contact Ryan. They saw what Rebecca went through with all of this and they don't want someone else to end up as collateral damage. She says that she will hold the trust for Rebecca in case she changes her mind.
Robert tells Kitty that he loved the book and it is wonderful. He does tell her that if she publishes it, she'll have to resign because he can't have a political writer on his staff. Kitty tells him the social worker called and they passed. *cheers and applause*
At the end of the show, Holly meets with a guy who evidently pulled some strings to get a license pushed through for her. She tells him some story about her daughter having some mental health issues and states that she thought if she could find an old friend of hers, it might help. She asks if he could help her and he says yes so she asks him to find Ryan. Oh, that woman makes my skin crawl.
I'm still waiting for that comeuppance that I asked for last week. What about you? Do you think Kitty will publish the book or will it be pushed aside for now? It would appear that there will soon be a baby on the show. Another Walker... why does that scare me? Scenes for next week show what appears to be Sal leaving, Kevin having some issues at work about being gay, and Justin fighting his addiction issues which effects his relationship with Rebecca. I'm not sure if I hope they manage to hold on or not. What do you think about the relationship? Give me your two cents on the Walker's and their circus.
