Previously on Heroes: Sylar got the part of Claire’s brain that makes her heal, Matt is on a spirit walk in the desert, Future!Peter shot Nathan to keep him from telling the world about their powers, which led Nathan to a seat in the Senate. Hiro and Ando are chasing speedster Daphne around France, and Mohinder injected himself with super powers. Present!Peter is trapped in the body of a Level 5 villain named Jesse who is now on the run with other escaped villains, and lest we forget, Angela Petrelli is Sylar’s biological mother.
Angela explains to Sylar that she never should have given him up for adoption as she brings in ‘Bridget’, a woman who has the power to see the history of any object she touches. Angela tells her son that Bridget is there to feed him, which he does by lopping off her head and picking up her power. Later, Angela pairs Sylar and Noah Bennet together to recapture all of the Level 5 escapees. Noah is ticked off, but Sylar thinks it’s hilarious. The villains have taken hostages at a bank, and Sylar immediately takes control of the scene, telling the police that they aren’t doing their jobs right just before demanding decaf coffee. Present!Peter is still trapped in Jesse’s body, and as one of the villains gets ready to knock off Noah, Sylar saves the day by using all of his powers to end the robbery. Future!Peter makes an appearance to free his Present self, and they take a trip to the future to see how bad it really sucks. Which is terrible news for Jesse because as soon as his possession is over, Sylar kills him. Noah and the Haitian look in on Sylar back on Level Five, and Noah reassures his old partner that he’s going to kill Sylar as soon as he figures out his weakness.
Tracy has been playing with her new ability to freeze things, and she seems genuinely shocked that she can do that. She gets a visit from Nathan who was sworn into the Senate that day. She shows him a video of herself giving him a lap dance, only it’s Nikki and she has no idea who that is. All she knows is that the woman has an address in New Orleans. When she gets there though, all she finds is Nikki’s funeral. Opening the casket reveals that Nikki is indeed dead as a doornail, and who should show up but Micah. He knows right off that bat that Tracy isn’t his mother, and after a little research, tells her that both she and his mother were born in the same hospital by the same doctor. Tracy goes to see him, and when she asks him if they’ve met, he tells her that he created her.
Claire has decided that if she can’t be a normal girl, she’s not going to try and lead a normal life which would include going to school. Her mom thinks this is all ridiculous, and shuts out Meredith, Claire’s biological mom, when she tries to speak on Claire’s behalf. Deciding that Claire probably won’t learn anything in school anyway, Meredith helps her ditch so that she can start learning how to fight. The first key to fighting is survival though, and after locking the both of them in a storage container, Meredith starts sucking out all the oxygen with her awesome fire hands. She pushes Claire to tell her why she wants to help get the bad guys, and as she suffocates, Claire chokes that it’s because she wants to hurt Sylar the way he hurt her. Back at home, after lying about going to a sleepover, Claire decides to go after the villains herself.
Hiro and Ando have tracked Daphne down to a theater that shows old black and white movies, and as she tries to speed away, she realizes she can’t move fast at all. Hiro hasn’t slowed down time, and as they look for a rational explanation, the Haitian appears. He has a briefcase containing the other half of the formula, and both Hiro and Daphne start scheming to get it. Hiro comes up with a distraction while Ando unceremoniously knocks the Haitian out. That’s perfect timing for Daphne to speed in, grab the suitcase, and run away. By the time she leaves, the Haitian is awake and takes both Hiro and Ando in for questioning.
Matt’s off on his boring spirit walk with the African guide in the middle of the desert. His guide can paint the future, and as they make it into a clearing with a bunch of rocks, different scenes of Matt’s life are painted there. The guide says that he’s been painting Matt since he was a very little boy (the guide, not Matt.) As he goes to paint again, his eyes do that freaky ‘roll into the back of his head’ move and they turn milky white. Later, as Matt tries to have his own vision, he totally gets into the zone with whatever the guide has playing on his headphones, and Matt’s eyes get that milky white look.
I agree about the Tracy line being the most interesting last night... how many Tracy/Jessica/Nikki's are there? I was thinking twins, then triplets, and now? Test-tube babies or something? It's a great gig for the actress... no matter how many times her character gets killed, she will always have work. It's like getting cast as a Cylon!
ReplyDeleteAll I can think of with the whole Nikki/Tracy/Jessica thing is the story line with Samantha Mulder from The X-Files.
