When I heard about the title of tonight's episode and saw some of the previews, I was excited. I thought, "They could do so much with this episode." I was disappointed. It wasn't a terrible episode. It was just okay. However, the end of the episode was probably most important. Let's recap the episode.

When I heard about the title of tonight's episode and saw some of the previews, I was excited. I thought, "They could do so much with this episode." I was disappointed. It wasn't a terrible episode. It was just okay. However, the end of the episode was probably most important. Let's recap the episode.
Michael brings Pam, Oscar, and Darryl to a job fair at Valley View High School, Pam's alma mater. Michael fails to bring anything to attract visitors to the Dunder Mifflin booth. His lone prop was a blank piece of paper to represent the students' canvas to paint their hopes and dreams. His only success was turning away an interested student because Michael didn't think he was cool enough. Oh, and Michael also made a fool of himself in front of the entire job fair, pleading for interested student interns and putting down other company booths like H&R Block.
After Jim's quick warning by Ryan last week, Jim feels the need to put more effort into his job if he's plans to have a future with Pam. He decides to use the golf course to make a sale. Bringing Andy with him wasn't so much his downfall. The customer didn't believe Dunder Mifflin could meet his financial needs. Jim showed what kind salesman he is and didn't take no for an answer. He got the sale.
Back at the office, Dwight thought it was his duty to keep everyone on task and in the office. Who was the first to go? Stanley. Creed, Phyllis, Meredith, and Kelly left as a group when Dwight went to the restroom. Who did that leave in the office? Dwight and Angela. They were polite to each other. It was quiet, but they were polite.
The most interesting scene was at the end of the episode. They showed Pam visiting a graphic design booth asking for an application. She wasn't completely qualified to apply for an entry level position, but she got some good advice about the kinds of classes she should take as preparation for a job like that. Where are the classes? New York and Philadelphia. Possible foreshadowing. Interesting.
So, what did you think about the episode? Go ahead and yell at me for not liking it so much. I was kind of bored while I watched it. It's one of my favorite shows. And because of that, I'm going to be picky. Any thoughts on what Pam is going to do with her new knowledge of what's needed for graphic design? Will Jim propose to Pam in next week's finale? Give me your TwoCents. I'll even provide you with a blank comment box to paint your hopes and dreams...I mean your TwoCents.
I'm inclined to agree with you on this not being the best ep ever. I don't know what Pam will do with her new graphic design info, but as long as Jim goes with her, I don't care.
ReplyDeleteI have no sure idea whether or not the finale will bring a proposal, but I hope they don't keep us hanging like Friends did.
I don't have that kind of stamina anymore.
