Jason Castro sang “Forever in Blue Jeans” and “September Morn.”
Randy said both songs were “just OK.”
Paula thought his songs were too safe.
Simon said both songs were forgettable. Again.
David Cook sang “I’m Alive” and “All I Really Need is You.”
Randy thought he was in the zone and rocked the house.
Paula felt that she was already looking at the next American Idol.
Simon said the first performance was just above average but the second was brilliant.
Brooke White sang “I’m a Believer” and “I Am, I Said.”
Randy said the first song was a bit karaoke but the second was really nice.
Paula loved how she showed her vulnerability and connected with the audience.
Simon declared the first a nightmare and the second a return to the “Brooke we like.”
David Archuleta sang “Sweet Caroline” and “America.”
Randy said he was “the bomb.”
Paula affirmed her love for David
Simon thought the first song was amateur and the second was a perfect song choice.
Syesha Mercado sang "Hello Again" and “Thank the Lord for the Nighttime.”
Randy thought her songs were strong.
Paula said her first song was absolutely beautiful and the second showed her diversity.
Simon said the first song was too old-fashioned and the second wasn’t enough to keep her off the chopping block.
