The Top 17 Things I Learned About the Castaways of Survivor: Micronesia

The Favorites: Malakal
1. Amanda is flying under the radar this week.
2. Ami… was she even in this episode?
3. Cirie needs to stop thinking she is running the game, cause she ain’t. And that kind of thinking will get you voted out quicker than anything.
4. Eliza likes to talk about voting people off the island without looking around to see who is listening. For example, maybe the person she wants to target. Hello!
5. James gets it right when he bemoans the fact that Yau Man is gone and Eliza (whom Ozzy wanted to vote out) has become sick.*

    4. Eliza likes to talk about voting people off the island without looking around to see who is listening. For example, maybe the person she wants to target. Hello!
    5. James gets it right when he bemoans the fact that Yau Man is gone and Eliza (whom Ozzy wanted to vote out) has become sick.*
    6. Jonathan is disgusted with Cirie’s actions. And frankly, so am I.
    7. Ozzy is a freakin’ superhuman! This guy can do just about anything, including (but not limited to) finding the Immunity Idol without his companion on Exile Island knowing, making and hiding a fake Immunity Idol without his companion on Exile Island knowing, and kicking ass in the Reward Challenge by moving all of Team Favorite’s coconuts to the end of the cage so his teammates merely had to jump in the water and grab them. Seriously, they won by, like, a mile.
    8. Parvati is recruited by Eliza to target Jonathan. She thinks it’s sad, knowing that Eliza is probably the next to go.

    The Fans: Airai
    9. Alexis is not making an impression on me.
    10. Chet is one of the laziest survivors ever.
    11. Erik has really huge hair.
    12. Jason interrupted Probst to give a somewhat high-falutin’ speech about keeping the strongest players at this stage of the game.* Too bad it didn’t hold sway.
    13. Joel is still real creepy.
    14. Kathy gets sent to Exile Island. Again. When she was picket to go for a third time, she had a look on her face like (to quote Xander Harris in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) she had been diagnosed with cancer of the puppy.
    15. Mikey B. got voted out. That was real stupid.*
    16. Natalie has the best idea of all Survivor-dom: “Work hard and keep my head down.”
    17. Tracy is upset with Joel for letting Mikey B. call the shots. Apparently she is fine with Joel calling the shots.

*These examples illustrate my whole theory that, until the tribes merge, the voting should be about maintaining the STRONGEST team, forget about the whole “who is a threat” crap. After the merge, by all means, turn the voting into that social game that makes us all cringe.

Next week: “He's a Ball of Goo!”
