Aubrey is driving the poolers and his favorite song comes on the radio. He cranks it up and gets all the guys into it before the chorus comes – and it’s a jingle for Rainbow Deodorant Tampons.

Dougie is getting a pep talk from Cindy. Take no prisoners. Pay it forward. Trust no one. Spread the love. The gang is all in the car waiting for him and they grow impatient and start honking the horn. Dougie and Cindy share a passionate goodbye kiss and Dougie jumps in the car.

Cindy leans down into the open backseat window to tell Dr. Laird that he’s disgusting and that there are children in the neighborhood.

As they pull away, Laird leans forward from the backseat to confront Dougie. When he told the Odd Quad about his having sex on the roof of his house it was in confidence and not to be shared outside the car. Dougie says he thought it was bragging and not a secret. The Quad’s not having it. Whatever happens in the carpool stays in the carpool.

Over at casa Gracen, Marmaduke is all dressed up for the big unveiling of his very own ATM (no, not ATM Machine! That’s the machine that makes ATMs). He’s borrowed a bunch of money from Gracen to buy and load the machine.

In the car again the Quad is being tailed by The Cool Carpool (lead by Scott Thompson, The Kids in the Hall). The Coolers want Laird and the Blowfish to pull over so they can get around them in the carpool lane. As they pass, Aubrey curses them and their early morning ice cream. Then one of the ice cream cones hits Aubrey’s windshield and they almost crash. Laird gets super angry and takes Dougie’s tuna fish lunch and smears it all over the engine of the Cooler’s car.

Over in the medium traffic area, where Marmaduke has set up his ATM he’s making a speech and cutting the ribbon. He poses for a few photos for Leila and then she gets to be the inaugural customer of the MATM (Marmaduke Automatic Teller Machine). Leila is angry when she withdraws $20 and has to pay an $8 service fee. Marmaduke points out the phone number on the back of her receipt where she can phone in her complaints, but she points out that it’s their unlisted home phone number. Marmaduke takes off with the podium he’s rented since it has to be back by three.

The Quad are happy about the tuna prank they pulled on the Coolers, but their happiness quickly fades as they drive past the Cooler’s car on the side of the road – on fire. The go from celebrating to thinking that what they did is ok, because nobody got hurt as there’s a huge explosion behind them.

Everyone is going to keep quiet about the whole carburning incident. Dougie agrees to tell “virtually” no one. They demand that he keep quiet about this, since what happens in the carpool stays in the carpool, but Dougie says he cannot lie to Cindy. The guys all demand that Dougie keep silent. Dougie tries to tell the guys that the guilt is going to haunt the guys but they laugh it off.

Inside Gracen’s house, Marmaduke is pissed because someone spray painted something about “wallet rape” on his MATM. He’s brought the machine home to repaint it. The police don’t have any suspects and the cops laughed at him when he reported the vandalism. Leila suggests that maybe he should lower his $8 service charge but Marmaduke says that idea isn’t even on the table for discussion. Gracen comes in and he’s stressed out from the car burning. He grabs a bottle and pours himself a drink. He guys it and it “takes the edge off the day” but Leila points out that he’s drinking olive oil.

Over at Dougie’s, he can’t get through dinner before his wife knows he’s lying about something. His hair even starts to fall out from the stress of keeping something from her.

Laird’s date isn’t going much better. He’s in bed with his date, but the guilt is making him unable to perform.

Aubrey shows up at Gracen’s to ask him he looks guilty. He thinks his wife is starting to catch on. Then Dougie shows up and says Cindy is right behind him and he needs Gracen to lie to her so he doesn’t have to. Cindy storms in and demands to know what the three are talking about at their secret meeting. Leila comes downstairs and Cindy tells her the guys are up to no good. Leila and Cindy put up a united front and tell the guys that they are going to find out sooner or later so they might as well just tell the truth. Just then, Laird comes in, wearing only a towel and admits everything about setting the car on fire.

Everyone is freaking out, none more than Dr. Laird who’s been struck impotent by the whole matter. Leila suggests they call a lawyer but Gracen is a lawyer. Aubrey suggest they all move to Colorado immediately but they decide they will pay for the damage to the car caused by the tuna in the engine. They try to smash into the MATM to get the cash (since it was Gracen’s money to begin with) but the machine won’t break. Gracen has to withdraw all the money from the machine $100 at a time – with the $8 service charge.

They call the Coolers and say they “know about the car” and demand they meet them in a parking garage so they can talk about “the money.” The Odd Quad show up all wearing pantyhose on their heads. They want to know where Laird got all the hosiery so quickly and he said it all came from under his bed. The Coolers show up and the Odd Quad jump out of the car, but before Gracen can offer them the money Scott Thompson hands him a wad of cash and asks how Laird and Blowfish found out about their burning the car to collect the insurance money. They keeps their ears to the street. The Coolers take off, and so does Aubrey’s car. It rolls down the ramp of the parking garage and into a parked Ferrari. The end up leaving all the money on the Ferrari’s window with a “sorry” note.

As the closing credits roll, we see the police detective and Marmaduke watching the video footage from the MATM. It shows Gracen trying to smash the machine. The officer asks Marmaduke if he knows that guy and Marm says he thought he did.

This show earns 5 out of 5 stars. Hilarious. Unfortunately, it’s shut down production due to the writer’s strike and ABC hasn’t ordered any more episodes. I fully support the strike but it could be the death of this great show.
