Emotion in the E.R. is a theme continuing over from last week. Abby's son is rushed to the E.R. and Abby goes into protective mother mode. Abby is also frantic because she cannot get in touch with Luka. In the previews for next week, Luka is shown to return! Abby also incorrectly diagnoses a man with kidney stones. Pratt's brother is introduced to the scene. Is he going to be another new character? Pratt works on a former-NFL player who has no money to fix his hip. Katey ruins Neela's return by blaming Neela for Ray's (Shane West) accident.

Gates takes the sick boy, Joshua, and his mother to a Cubs game. The boy's mother kisses Gates at the end of the night, but I don't think she is going to stick around for a pairing.

I seem to have less opinion on E.R. Okay, here goes my opinion. I think that all these characters that show up for a couple of minutes each show need to go. Nobody really cares about the intern's crush on Abby. This episode was good. It touched between the doctors and the lives of the doctors neatly and had an equal balance of it, which is difficult to do in any kind of doctor show.
