Here’s what happened in the third episode of 30 Rock:

After hearing that he is in the running of taking over as the head of GE one day, Jack hires a private investigator (Steve Buscemi) to look into his own background to make sure there is nothing that can get in the way of this promotion. There is one thing…a massive collection of cookie jars. The P.I. urges him to get rid of them. Jack refuses at first until he finds the perfect person to care for his collection.

Liz partners up with Tracy’s wife, Angie, to make sure he behaves (a.k.a. stops being so horny). Liz fails and it ruins the normal rehearsal process of TGS when Tracy’s wife demands that she approve everything that he does first. Liz stands up to Angie and it leads to the Jordan’s growing even closer in their marriage.

Jenna is afraid she is gaining weight and that she will ultimately lose her recent surge in popularity. Jack appoints Kenneth, the page, to make sure Jenna stays fatty and plump.

PG’s TwoCents: This was yet another funny episode from the writers of 30 Rock. There wasn’t any closure to Jenna’s need to stay fat, so it will be interesting to see how long they keep that up. It is clearly noticeable that is part of wardrobe, but it does make for a funny storyline. Jack’s pursuit of a promotion seems to be his story for this season. Liz’s relationship problems weren’t discussed in this episode, a first for this season. Maybe now that the Jordan’s seem happy, Liz’s personal life will make an appearance in the next episode. See you next week! (Or should I say later this week, I’m late with this one.)

CORRECTION TO MY LAST 30 ROCK REVIEW: I wrote in my last review that Jack wanted to take over as the head of NBC when Don Geiss retires. It is the head of GE, which owns NBC, that Jack wants to be named. Sorry for the error.
