Nothing is what it seems to be, not even one of the highest ranking criminals Siravo on the NCIS most wanted wall is what he really seemed to be. For years NCIS has been chasing after him but without much luck. The team finds that out the hard way, when they find Siravo. There is a shoot out at an abandoned construction site, two men end up dead while the third makes it look like they shot each other. He then picks up his phone and calls in a favor with Gibbs.

Trent Kort knows that Gibbs is in debt with him and since Gibbs is a man of his word he comes when Trent Kort calls, even though Gibbs wants to help him he doesn’t trust Kort. Gibbs comment about Kort riding a desk at the agency makes clear that he is being punished and needs to make his way up the ladder once again. Kort wants Gibbs to believe that the two men shot each other, but Gibbs knows him to well. It is obvious to him that Kort was involved in the shooting.

Gibbs tells his team to join him, when they arrive they hide the bodies from plain sight and set off a perimeter. Gibbs and Kort stay behind while they wait for someone else to show up, hopefully Siravo. Since both of the dead men are high ranking members of Siravo’s organization.

A man indeed shows up at the construction site, he says that he is the Siravo’s accountant. Gibbs interrogates him, Perry wants immunity for his help. The more information they retrieve the more it seems as if Siravo is liquidating his funds and eliminating his crew. Or better put he is letting his own crew eliminate themselves. While he is probably going to pull a disappearing act when his funds have been liquidated.

Perry is nervous and fidgeting, when Gibbs is interrogating which is not all that surprising. He seems to lack in the self esteem department quite a lot and of course Gibbs can be intimidating. Gibbs is able to get some information from Perry and Gibbs tells Ziva and Tony to take him to a safe house. It takes a while before the team catches on but eventually they do, they find out that not Siravo but Perry is the mastermind behind the organization.

‘Gibbs we have a situation at the safe house … Under control!’

There was this one scene with Ziva! I mean if you have seen the episode will know which scene I mean without me further explaining it. However for those who missed the episode here is that particular scene explained. There was this scene where Ziva and Tony where at a safe house with the Perry who in turn for information was taken to the safe house for protection. Ziva returns from running an errand when she sees that they are compromised. She notifies Tony and runs up to the apartment. When she arrives there she takes out a second gun and calls Gibbs. She tells him that they are compromised and asks him to wait a second. At that moment both of the doors to the apartment are kicked in and Ziva shoots both of the attackers at the same time while Tony and the accountant are hiding out in the bathroom. Gibbs hears the shooting and freaks out calling out her name frantically. Ziva picks up the phone and tells him that the situation is taken care off. Gibbs puts his phone down with that typical Gibbs smile. A great Ziva the Mossad assassin moment. Love those, we should see more of those moments.

So in the end, the bad guy Siravo isn’t as bad as he seemed to be. Or at least he hasn’t been for quite some time since he is in a comatose state. His accountant took his chance and took over the organization from him. Knowing that he could use the reputation of Siravo to gain money and power without getting into trouble himself. Siravo became a ghost because he couldn’t be found which probably made him more notorious amongst fellow criminals.

All in all it was a good episode, with good twists and turns in it some that I didn’t expect. Some things really surprised me or maybe my surprise had more to do with certain presumptions. Yes I don’t like Trent Kort, I don’t trust him either. Tony made some harsh but understandable comments towards Kort. Well I can’t blame Tony and I certainly don’t feel sorry for the guy. He has been asking for it.

I am pretty sure that this wasn’t the last time we see Trent Kort stirring up the team dynamics on NCIS. What do you think?

  2. I loved the Ziva scene - she is such a bad ass!

I don't think we've seen the last of Kort. The weird this is, I kind of like him. I hope we do see more of him - but I hope he's not stirring up trouble.
