This week, Gordon scares the chefs by making them believe he’s kicking everyone out. Surprise, surprise, it’s just time to go check out Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J., where they will work if they win. After being shown the big, empty space of possibilities, they go to dinner with the Borgata chefs. A few minutes in, Robert gets up from the table and leaves. None of the other chefs know it at the time but he’s having a great deal of chest pain and sees the medic. He’s advised to go to the hospital as he might have had a heart attack. Oh, no, Robert!

I won’t leave you hanging as much as Fox did, with the other chefs waiting days, wondering where he is. Robert finally does return and the editing makes it seem like he would be coming back but unfortunately, Robert leaves. I’m ridiculously bummed about this. I was really pulling for him but he’s right, he needs to focus on getting better first. I wish Robert all the best and hope he’s gotten better. Gordon tells him that he had “the potential to win” and advises him to “never, ever forget it.”

The remaining four set about making their signature dish. Whoever wins this challenge is safe from elimination so they’re all quite focused. Danny, Andrea and Paula’s dishes go over well but Ben, who was extremely overconfident, gets shot down. Gordon doesn’t like that Ben cut a prawn, put the tail on the plate and left the prawn off. I agree that that’s odd and Andrea did something similar earlier with the king crab shell so Ben should have known better.

Andrea wins this challenge and Ben complains about it. He’s way too cocky. If he was as awesome as he thinks he is, Gordon would have actually liked his dish. At service, the final four seem to work well together, until the good ship Hell’s Kitchen starts to sink, like it often does.

Standouts on the Side of Good:Danny – I never give this guy enough credit. He never makes my bad list but he never gets major praise from Gordon either. So, here it is: Danny, I think you might win this whole thing.

Paula – She tries to cover for Andrea, which infuriates Gordon but I think it was a solid move. In a competition where everyone’s seemingly out for themselves and it would be easy to sink Andrea, she tries to help and I liked that.

Standouts on the Side of Bad:Andrea – Oh, dear. Where to start? She’s stuck on the fish station and it doesn’t seem as if there’s anything she can cook properly this week. Scallops and salmon come back raw many, many times. It’s bad. She completely crashes and burns.

Ben – He tries to serve carrot puree cold, which sounds like baby food no matter what temperature it is, if you ask me. Gordon tells him if he serves cold vegetables again, he’s going home. Ben gets so beaten down and screws up so much that Gordon kicks him out. He absolutely seemed like he was giving up.

Who Wins, Who Is Nominated and Who Goes Home:I’m not sure anyone won this week. It certainly didn’t seem like anyone did. Ben and Paula get nominated because Andrea can’t. We all know Ben’s a talker and this time was no exception as he started up about why he should stay. Thankfully, Gordon cut him very short and told Paula it was her turn. She didn’t get more than thirty seconds in before he sent her back in line and called Andrea up.

Gordon says Andrea sunk Ben and he gives Ben another chance. No one goes home. It was obvious that Andrea was the absolute worst and on any other episode, he would have sent her home but Gordon wanted to be a man of his word and Robert already went home. Can’t cut the number of episodes short, now can we?

So, what did you think? It’s definitely a race between Paula and Danny at this point. If Ben can pull it together long enough to come back from the hole he’s in, I still don’t think Gordon will choose him. Andrea is a total lost cause. If she wins or makes the final two, I will be stunned. Let me know your TwoCents in the comments!
