This week was all about the Argentine Tango, a sexy and sultry passionate Latin dance, and the Lindy Hop, a fun and cute fast fifties style dance. Our stars are giving it all they’ve got, and some are excelling while some leave something to be desired. So, how did they do?

    Star: David Alan Grier
    Partner: Kym Johnson
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 7
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 8
My rating: 7. He lost timing a little bit, and that band geek I mentioned a couple episodes ago was annoyed again.

    Star: Lil Kim (rapper)
    Partner: Derek Hough
    Dancing: the Argentine Tango
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 10
    Carrie Ann: 9
My rating: 9. I was impressed. She did a great job, and there were several very beautiful moves. She even got a standing ovation and the first ten of the season.

    Star: Chuck Wicks (country star)
    Partner: Julianne Hough
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 7
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 8
My rating: 8. He did a really good job. I thought it was enjoyable and he did really well. The judges said he was safe and competent, but I thought it was certainly fine.

    Star: Lawrence Taylor (football player)
    Partner: Edyta Sliwinska
    Dancing: the Argentine Tango
    Len: 5
    Bruno: 7
    Carrie Ann: 7
My rating: 6. He was light on his feet, but he didn’t really do much. Edyta definitely carried this dance and did most of the work. I’m with Len, it was uncomfortable.

Star: Ty Murray (cowboy and Rodeo champion)
    Partner: Chelsie Hightower
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 8
    Carrie Ann: 9
My rating: 8. He’s not quite polished yet, but he’s still most improved. Every week, he’s getting better and it’s really great to see. He even got a nine.

Star: Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple)
    Partner: Karina Smirnoff
    Dancing: the Argentine Tango
    Len: 4
    Bruno: 4
    Carrie Ann: 4
My rating: 6. He’s not the greatest dancer, but he’s so loveable, I can’t hate him. I mean, he said he had trouble putting on a serious face because he’s such a happy guy. He improved over last week, though, and he’s genuinely trying.

    Star: Melissa Rycroft (Bachelor reject)
    Partner: Tony Dovolani
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 9
    Bruno: 10
    Carrie Ann: 10
My rating: 10. It was truly beautiful, and everyone was impressed by this dance. She will definitely be sticking around. She took two tens and a nine, and they were well deserved.

Star: Holly Madison (professional Girl Next Door)
    Partner: Dmitri Chaplan
    Dancing: the
    Len: 6
    Bruno: 5
    Carrie Ann: 5
My rating: Points taken off for missing steps and forgetting some moves. Points given for some cool lifted spins, but not enough to make up for all of the awkwardness and lack of timing. It’s a bad day when Carrie Ann gives you a lower score than Len.

    Star: Steve-O (professional Jackass)
    Partner: Lacey Schwimmer
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 5
    Bruno: 5
    Carrie Ann: 5
My rating: 6. Steve-O just seems to be following along and taking orders and he lacks good time, but he’s having fun and it’s a lot of fun to watch.

    Star: Gilles Marini (actor)
    Partner: Cheryl Burke
    Dancing: the Argentine Tango
    Len: 10
    Bruno: 10
    Carrie Ann: *fans self* 10
My rating: 10. It was beautiful, sexy, sensual, passionate, and everything an Argentine Tango should be. It was the most deserved standing ovation of the night, and a perfect score! :D

Star: Shawn Johnson (Olympic gold medalist)
    Partner: Mark Ballas
    Dancing: the Lindy Hop
    Len: 8
    Bruno: 9
    Carrie Ann: 8
My rating: 9. They were fun and adorable, and it was nice to see Shawn comfortable in her element, doing flips and gymnastic tricks. The judges wish they had done more dancing and less trickery, but the audience disagreed.

So what did you think? Will cuteness and likeability alone be enough to keep Steve Wozniak around? Was Shawn’s Johnson’s use of gymnastic showmanship a little too sports and not enough dance? Who should go home?
