Nate introduces Vanessa and Dan to his cousin Trip who is trying to get him to do something family reunion. Trip hints that Grandfather really wants to see him. Dan and Ness convince Nate to give his family another chance. So he does, and brings Dan and Vanessa with him. Cuz awkward family moments are more fun when shared with your buddies! Vanessa bonds with Maureen, Trip’s fiancĂ©. She makes it clear that Nate’s future isn’t his own. Gramps has got him billed as the next Obama. Or at the very least a Kennedy. Nate tries to tell Vanessa not to worry but goes off and meets gramps and cousin Trip. Family is a strong pull and he decides to take a job at the Mayor’s office this upcoming summer instead of a trip with Vanessa.

Serena tells Chuck that Blair is licking her wounds after getting rejected by Yale. Chuck says she should be getting them licked by him. Ewe! That was nasty even for a Bass. Chuck finds Blair with his arch nemesis Carter! Blair seems to have decided to live on the wild, non-college side of life. Together Serena and Chuck plot to save B from herself. Carter meets Serena and Chuck and admits he’s using Blair and Serena gets him to leave by bringing up some Greek moment in their shared jaded past He leaves because he doesn’t want anyone to know about Greece – and we never do know.
There’s an awesome scene with Daroda, Serena and Chuck. Super funny – where they try and get Blair’s whereabouts out of Daroda.

But Queen B is still in hot water. Or at least she dives right in when she realizes she isn’t getting into her last college choice or anything else. So she decides to go on a mission to ruin her own life – well her social status anyway. Then she attacks Chuck – sexually - who turns her down because it’s not the real Blair. Not the one he wants. Okay these two are worse than tennis match with all the back and forth.

Lily finds out that her interior designer used to date Rufus and is grossed out. She confronts Rufus and decides that they should make lists of all their past lovers – oh yes, this will go well! Serena finds her mom’s list of lovers – which includes Trent Reznor – and is rightfully grossed out. Oh and Slash from Guns-n-Roses and Lily – ugh! She ends up giving Rufus only half the list because his is so small. But he finds the rest of the list the next day. Oops. They fight but Rufus gets over his ego and they work it out.

Blair finally unravels and cries to Nate of all people. They reference the book series here when they talk about watching and rewatching Blair’s favorite old movies, which is cool. Serena convinces Chuck to fight for Blair – make her feel safe if he wants to be taken back. When Chuck shows up at Blair’s he finds Nate’s jacket. Nate and Blair are upstairs in her room. Did anything happen? Only Gossip Girls knows...
We have to wait till next week to find out!
