  1. So the big question becomes…If a show is bold enough to spend ten minutes in pitch black, is it bold enough to eliminate one of its main characters? Or will we see echoes of Six Feet Under, where an actor spends half a season as a ghost?

This episode begins and ends with Teddy taking Sean to a restaurant that serves in pitch black. The first date ends when Sean takes a call from Julia. Teddy’s thrill-seeking in this episode also includes copulating in a stranger’s home, getting stoned in the wilderness and using nitrus oxide as an erotic aid. Funny how Christian gets more play, but Sean is a magnet for the wackos. Just in the last couple seasons, he’s had one girl have an accident in his hot tub, one who gave him a heart attack and poisoned his wife, and worst of all, the psycho nanny who made him listen to Oasis. So why wasn’t Rose McGowan the first choice? I’m seeing Katee Sackhoff on that bike, but I keep hearing Rose’s voice.

In a unique, original case, Budi Sabri has a unique condition where his body is sprouting unusual growths that look like horns or roots. Essentially, he looks like a walking tree. The growths are extremely painful as well as unsightly, making him feel less than human. As they are removed piece by piece, Sean and Christian each connect with his emotional distance and lack of humanity during the episode. He talks Christian out of suicide, but when the growths begin again, his depression grows.

Meanwhile, Christian feels confident heading into his twelve week checkup, but the news is not good. The cancer has spread, and the doctor gives him six months to live. He recommends a treatment that could risk bone damage, but Christian seems more determined to burn out, spending his last days living rather than preparing to die. All this leads him to Miami, where he interrupts Liz during surgery and proposes. She follows him back to LA, where Christian is forced to confess to stealing meds with the intention of poisoning himself. Once the cancer news is in the open, Liz feels betrayed, since Christian never outlined a life without him. As Sean outlines other potential treatments, Christian lights up some vintage cigars for the both of them and turns him down. Liz returns to accept his proposal, and at the end of the episode, Christian is left alone, but it’s not a depressing moment.

  2. There's no way they will kill of Christian- I just don't see it happening unless this is the last season of Nip/Tuck ever.

Sean picks the craziest girls. Remember the girl who crapped in his hot tub? They should bring her back!

  3. Next season is the last season. I'm sure they can let Christian live for about 20 more episodes. I bet he dies in the finale.
