Another day, another crucial scientific problem for the geeky gang of four: they cannot find a Sheldon-approved restaurant within appropriate travelling distance of a Sheldon-approved movie theater. Solution? Leave Sheldon home. Thankfully, the logically minded Sheldon agrees that this is the only conclusion. (Though I still think that Slurpees are the same thing as Icees – who's with me?)

  1. Another day, another crucial scientific problem for the geeky gang of four: they cannot find a Sheldon-approved restaurant within appropriate traveling distance of a Sheldon-approved movie theater. Solution? Leave Sheldon home. Thankfully, the logically minded Sheldon agrees that this is the only conclusion. (Though I still think that Slurpees are the same thing as Icees – who's with me?)

While the boys are away, Penny hides in their apartment from the building manager because she can't pay her rent. Fun fact: The fictional apartment building is located at 2311 N. Los Robles. Sheldon, having the sudden brilliant realization that more money would solve her problems, decides to lend her a good sum of money from his well-guarded snake can of savings (it's okay, he has more in Green Lantern's buttocks). As it turns out, one good quality Sheldon possesses is monetary generosity. Though Penny's unsure at first, she's desperate and takes the money, promising to pay it back as soon as she can.

Sheldon and Leonard are in the lobby later musing about being a pet for aliens, when Penny receives a beret she ordered a while ago. She freaks out at a perceived slight against her for spending money, which no one had made any mention of, and then has a similar indignant moment later when she has Chinese takeout. Leonard goes into her apartment after her and finds her electricity shut off (except for the laptop on her table, which is apparently powered by rainbows and dreams). Trying to find ways to cut corners, he discovers that Penny lent her ex-boyfriend Kurt $1800 for bail money and outstanding tickets, and Kurt hasn't paid her back.

Leonard rounds up the reluctant guys to go get the money back from Kurt, which he hopes to achieve through some bizarro intimidation. They eventually abandon him anyway, but he does got an indelible ink IOU from Kurt on his forehead. Unfortunately, when Kurt actually does pay her back, Penny knows none of this, and agrees to go out with Kurt again, thinking he's changed.

So let me know what you thought of this episode! Were you shouting at the conspicuous laptop as well? How shocked were you when you thought Penny was hitting on Leonard? Leave all your comments after the best lines of the evening!

    Best Quotes:
Penny: Wow, you got a lot of money in there.
Sheldon: That's why it's guarded by snakes.

Sheldon: I see no large upcoming expenditures. Unless they develop an
affordable technology to fuse my skeleton with adamantium like Wolverine.
Penny: Are they working on that?
    Sheldon: I sincerely hope so.

Penny: Oh, Leonard, honey, if we started living together, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off you.
    Leonard: Really?
Penny: And you thought my acting lessons were a waste of money!

Leonard: Hey, you guys wanna go on a real live quest?
Sheldon: Outside? I just made cocoa!

Leonard: Excuse me, when Frodo left the Shire to take the One Ring to Mordor, didn't Samwise, Pippin, and Merry go with him?
    Sheldon: They did.
    Leonard: Well?
Sheldon: They had a terrible time of it, Leonard.
Raj: Plus no one stole their pants.

  2. I'm with you icee = slurpee. Sheldon is WRONG! :)

Also, my favorite line was about the money hidden in Green Lantern's ass. Priceless.

  3. Haha, I loved that! And the "Chinese food prostitute" line, but I try to keep my quotes down to five.

    +1 for Icee = Slurpee! :)

  4. I've been wanting to get a Slurpee & an Icee ever since Monday night ... I have to find out what the danged difference is supposed to be. I thought they were the same thing.

FINALLY! A redeeming quality for Sheldon! Yeesh, the boy has so many hang ups it's refreshing to see him NOT care about something.

The show has so many good lines that it's too hard to pick just one. Or five!

  5. I know, I was thrilled that they finally gave Sheldon a likable social characteristic!

A little googling suggests the only difference between a Slurpee and an Icee is the brand name - aha!
