  1. This week, a teenage girl shows up on her family’s doorstep after an absence of four years. The detectives are called in when she claims to have been kept as a sex slave. Benson and Stabler find out she’s not the missing girl she says she is but the investigation doesn’t end there.

Three Notable Things About This Week’s Episode:

    1. It was another solid episode. I’m glad that while there are still twists at the end, it’s not the main point of the episode anymore. The twist that the girl was not actually Heather was a good one but the twist that her story was real did shock me. Then you have the twist with the mother and sister of the missing Heather knowing she wasn’t the real Heather. It’s not a new twist that a mother would be so desperate not to lose another daughter that she’ll protect the one that killed the other daughter but it’s still shocking each time I see a story like that.

    2. I hate it when Olivia and Elliot play the sympathetic cop/my partner’s an idiot game during questioning. I know it works and that they are just pretending but it just always makes me feel uncomfortable to see Elliot talk to Olivia that way.

    3. I loved the performance of Ellen Woglom as Heather/Kristen. What her character did, pretending to be Heather was very deceptive but the performance was so strong that I felt for her and cared about what would happen to her. During this episode, one of my friends said, “That wouldn’t have been my reaction,” when Heather’s family tried to prosecute Kristen for posing as their daughter. That’s a real testament to the layers of the character the actress put into it. I also enjoyed Kate Baldwin, who played the oldest sister and had no idea her mother and sister knew Heather was dead and that Nikki had killed her. How do you trust your family again when they lie to you and let you believe your sister has been missing for four years? Yikes.
