  1. A fourteen year old girl is found dead in the Hudson River and is first thought to be a victim of human trafficking. When Benson and Stabler discover she is actually a child prodigy, they investigate the world of an elite academy for extremely intelligent children and the intense pressure put on the children by both the academy and their own parents.

Three Notable Things About This Week’s Episode:

    1. This week’s storyline really had me going. I loved the twist with the roommate being the murderer but even more, I loved the other twist where she hadn’t slept in nearly a week. I’m sure we’ve all been there, cramming for tests and missing a night’s sleep but six nights of sleep? I’m sure I wouldn’t even remember half of those days. The other, other twist with the victim’s sister coming forward to tell about the horrific conditions and the studying torture their father put them through was also well done. I was completely shocked when the poor girl showed the detectives the scars on her knees from where the rice on the floor slowly dug in.

    2. This episode is exactly why I like having actors I don’t know as guest stars on SVU. It’s a great showcase for relatively unknown talent and Sarah Hyland definitely showcased her amazing acting ability as the desperate to be number one, overstressed roommate to the victim. I was watching the episode with two friends who were sort of in and out of the episode. When the final courtroom scene kicked into full gear, they both were fixed to the screen. She’s very impressive and I hope we see much more of her in the future.

    3. I have to mention Olivia going undercover as a madam in the beginning of the episode, when the detectives still thought it was a human trafficking ring. I have to mention it because it was the big selling point in the commercials but when I saw it, I couldn’t believe Olivia was going undercover again. Going undercover in the prison was so disastrous and has left her with post traumatic stress, so I wouldn’t think she’d be that willing to put herself at risk again, despite whether or not Fin was there. He was there in the prison, too, remember? Seriously, whenever any of the detectives go undercover, especially in this season and last season, things seem to go terribly wrong!

So what did you think? Tell me your TwoCents in the comments! Anyone want to place bets on which detective will go undercover next this season? It seems to have become a trend.

I also want to extend a HUGE internet basket of well wishes to Mariska Hargitay who is reportedly suffering from a partially collapsed lung. Get well soon!
