Last week I was disappointed with the quality of The Office episode, “Employee Transfer.” Well, I hoped you watched it this week. It may have been the funniest of this season thus far. How did they do it? It was just the right kind of interaction between Jim and Dwight, a tiny piece of Japanese technology, and a twist at the end of the episode. What’s that? You missed it? Well, continue reading to get a recap. How many shoes do you need? Sorry, I wasn’t talking to you…continue reading…

It is an important part of the year for the sales people. Michael reviews the customer surveys that are submitted to Kelly. Each sales person’s bonus is tied to the score of their customer surveys. Andy did really well on his report. Jim and Dwight surprisingly did not do well. Michael’s solution – role playing in the conference room between Jim and Dwight to refine their customer service skills. The result was a hilarious scene of Jim belittling Dwight and Michael believing they were actually making a $1 million dollar sale…to Jim, who was playing the part of the customer on the phone.

Meanwhile, this entire time Pam and Jim have been wearing the world’s tiniest Bluetooth ear piece so they can hear each other all day long. This provided for hilarious scenes of Dwight freaking out when Jim appeared to be talking to himself. And when Dwight confronted Kelly about their poor customer surveys, Kelly yelled at Dwight, “Get out of my nook (cubicle), Dwight!” Pam stood up at her part-time job at corporate and started yelling, “That’s what she said! That’s what she said!”

Jim finally puts it together, with the help of the little birdie in his ear, while using Andy’s mug and asking Kelly how things are with Daryl. She says fine and exits the kitchen. Pam tells Jim that its really odd that Kelly wouldn’t go into some long winded rant about her love life that would spill into gossip about Brad Pritt and Angelina Jolie. Jim goes to Ryan and asks him if he knows if Kelly is mad at him and notices Ryan has the same kind of mug Andy has - mug with their own picture on it. It turns out Jim and Dwight are the only ones that don’t have a mug with their own face on it because they didn’t go to Kelly’s America’s Got Talent party, which explains why they got poor marks on their customer survey reports. Kelly was mad at them and responded the way any other teenager would. I do have to note that Kelly is not a teenager, but certainly acts like one…in every episode.

Before I get to the twist at the end of the episode, there was a side story occurring. Andy was planning his wedding with Angela to occur in a big tent. Her only stipulation to agree to the tent that the wedding be on a farm that has an old historic barn and is in an 8 to 10 mile radius of the office. Hmmm, where could Andy find a farm like that? That’s right, Schrute farms. Dwight agrees to let them use the farm and he will make sure the wedding is perfect. Dwight and Angela’s affair are still very much alive.

Now for the twist. While Pam is working at corporate, her college classmate, Alex, stops in to ask her to go to out. Jim is in Pam’s ear and tells her that is sounds like fun. Pam declines, but Alex insists that she at least come out to the hallway to talk to her. Alex tells Pam that he really thinks she should stay in New York longer than the 3 months her art program lasts. He tells her that art is in New York and if she’s serious about it, then New York is where she should be if she doesn’t want to regret it later on in life. Jim hears everything and you can tell he realizes that they may have a problem.

So, what did you think? Leave your TwoCents here and if you know where I can get a couple of the tiniest Bluetooth ear pieces in the world, please let me know.
