Quantico, a Navy base and the home of the FBI academy is the target of a bank robbery. One security guard is killed during the heist, when he walks back into the bank from a trip to the bathroom. He steps inside in the middle of the heist and before he can even react he is gunned down.

This episode once again shows how bad human are at remembering details even when they supposedly should be trained to do this kind of thing. It is strange to see that people who live on a navy base and deal with weapons day in and day out are such bad witnesses. You'd expect them to be better witnesses but nothing could be further from the truth. While they are interrogating the witnesses they get different number of perps, different getaway cars and even extremely different colors and models of cars.

Then the team receive a call that a van is on fire, after investigating the car Abby finds out that the money was in the car, due to the levels of certain materials which can be found in money, she figures that all of the money burned in the car. All 27 000 dollars, a fairly low count of money if you see what these perps did to get the money.

Each team at NCIS gets a probie assigned to their team to give them an inside view on how NCIS deals with cases. At first Gibbs' team doesn't get a new probie but when they catch this case they get a probie reassigned to the team, named Dwayne, because he is a former marine who was stationed at Quantico. Vance figures that they can use the inside help from someone who is familiar with the base and it's dealings.

Tony figures that it is an inside job, Dwayne tells them that 27 000 dollars is a very low amount of money especially since in three days there is a long weekend for the base and most of the personnel will take money out of the bank for a weekend getaway. So right before the weekend there would be a lot more money in the bank.

Of course, since it happened at Quantico the government, the FBI and the Navy feel embarrassed. If they can't protect their own people at their own base how can they offer protection to the rest of the country. Vance has told the FBI that Quantico in the first place is a Navy base and secondly the home of the FBI academy. SecNav backs him but the FBI is ready to take over at any moment if it takes NCIS too long to solve the heist.

Poor Ziva is trying to find the right part of the survailance video with McGee standing behind her giving directions. Ziva and her computer skills have always been poorly, she should really take some lesson from McGeek! But then again if someone like McGee was standing behind me watching me on my fingers I probably couldn't do what she was trying to do either. I liked the way that Assassin Ziva came back to the surface when she told him that if he ever wanted to handle anything again he should take his hand off of her mouse.

Since the money was burned and the amount of money was so low to begin with Gibbs figures that it wasn't a heist but that they guard was the main target and that the heist was meant to be a cover up for the murder. Especially when they find out that the guard has served in prison for two years, thirty years ago. But since his prison time had nothing to do with violence and since it was thirty years ago he could work as a security guard. Also when they check the survailance videos from the previous days they find the van rolling around the corner slowly a couple of times within a matter of minutes.

It takes a while before Gibbs finds out that Dwayne has been added to his team. In fact, he doesn' t meet him until he visits Abby in her lab after McGee, Ziva and Tony mentioned Dwayne's name assuming that Gibbs knew about their new probie. Even if it is only for two weeks Gibbs isn' t happy, he goes to Vance's office to tell Vance what he thinks of it. Vance tells Gibbs that he isn' t sure if Dwayne has what it takes to be a good agent and he wants Gibbs to give his opinion about the young man. Gibbs tells Vance that he wants to choose his own team which gives Vance enough ammo to make a comment about Agent Langer.

During the episode we see Agent Lee a couple of times, and no matter what she thinks Gibbs is onto her and he will bring her down. Gibbs watches her closely and Agent Lee certainly doesn't feel comfortable under Gibbs' glance.

She is called into Vance's offce, Vance asks her if it is hard to terminate agents. You can visibly see Agent Lee getting more and more uncomfortable by the second. When Vance sees the look on her face he tells her that he has a couple of Agents who where hired under the old administration, meaning Jenn's choice which he wants to get rid off. And since Agent Lee is working for Legal again he is asking her legal advice on the matter. Somehow I think that Vance knows that something is off with Agent Lee and it wouldn't surprise me if this was just a way to see what her reaction would be.

In the end Gibbs gives his verdict on Dwayne to Vance, he tells him that he will be a good agent. Probably because he wants to do the job for the right reasons more then because of his test results. When he walks down the stairs he runs into Dwayne and he wishes him good luck.

It is only a matter of time ... the fact that Gibbs put Agent Langer's card on the wall with the fallen NCIS agents showed that Gibbs no longer believes that he is the bad apple. And knowing Gibbs he will probably keep quiete about it until he has enough evidence to make sure that Agent Lee won't get away with what she did.

Next episode promises to be a special one, why? Well if I look at the description on tv.com, which granted were only two lines I can only be excited and according to the poll result regarding this particular episode on that same website I am not the only one. So hopefully you'll be back here reading my two cents next week.
