In classic SVU style, an episode that starts out with a castrated man on fire ends up being about a bunch of girls who make a pregnancy pact. Sound familiar? Madness breaks out when the lead girl commits suicide and the family finds out another girl’s mother was harassing her online that night. Debi Mazar, Jesse McCartney and Michael Badalucco guest star in this emotionally charged episode.

In classic SVU style, an episode that starts out with a castrated man on fire ends up being about a bunch of girls who make a pregnancy pact. Sound familiar? Madness breaks out when the lead girl commits suicide and the family finds out another girl’s mother was harassing her online that night. Five Things That Made This A Great Episode:

    1. Detective Munch, posing as a homeless person, wandering down the streets yelling his conspiracy theories. That cracked me up so much, especially when Fin said that’s how he usually is.

    2. The story was really well done. I get a little twitchy when things are “ripped from the headlines” but in this episode, the show took it in another direction and crafted a fascinating chain of events. The best part was that the twists weren’t all that predictable to me.

    3. Everyone was stellar in this episode. I was worried that there would be no Olivia at all, since they said in the beginning she was at a convention but she showed up in time to try to knock some sense into Fidelia, the lead pregnant girl. Debi Mazar and Michael Badalucco were perfect as the mother of one pregnant girl and the father of the murder victim in the first scene. I’d never seen Jesse McCartney act before and I have to say, I was actually impressed, especially in the final scene where he admits he killed his girlfriend, Fidelia.

    4. ADA Kim Grayleck is coming off as more and more abrasive and aggressive. It’s grating on my nerves a little but it does make for incendiary courtroom scenes. I’m sure it’s not easy to appear more commanding than Debi Mazar in a scene but Michaela McManus definitely did this week.

    5. The last scene between the one pregnant girl and Michael Badalucco’s character was fantastic. They had been through so much, with her brother going to prison for fifteen to life for killing her boyfriend and his son and with her mother headed to prison as well. I was hoping she wouldn’t be left to family court and she wasn’t, thanks to Stabler and her boyfriend’s father. It was a very sweet scene and I was glad SVU didn’t end right after the confession, like it tends to do these days.

So what did you think? And what do you think about the scenes for next week? I’m not going to ruin it for you if you didn’t see the preview but I’ll just say we’re definitely in for an intense episode. Tell me your TwoCents in the comments!

  2. I was ROLLING with Munch's rants!! That's a scene we've been waiting on for years!
Especially since Munch & Fin have been relatively unused this season ~ I love to see more of them!

So not liking this new ADA yet. I'm trying but they aren't giving me anything to work with yet. Help the girl out before I start cheering the next time someone chokes her!

I'm thinking it's just not a complete season until _______ gets hurt. ;) Not giving it away ~ but next week looks GOOOOOOD. In a tear jerking/heart stopping kind of way!

  3. I hope they let Munch rant more often. The second best part of when Munch rants is always the look on Fin's face right after.

I completely agree with you about the ADA. I'm trying to like her too but she's just too overbearing right now. Hopefully, they'll give us something to like about her soon!

Next week looks like it's going to be quite an emotional episode. And you're right about ______. ;)
