Aw, man... end of season already? That’s what happens when you double up on episodes at the beginning. Nice finale here, featuring a terrific, Guffman-esque bargain basement production that makes High School Musical look like…well…a high school musical. Bringing back the Dayman (aa-AA-aa) song (and Dennis’ spandex) was a risk, but the gang definitely brings it to the next level.

  1. Aw, man... end of season already? That’s what happens when you double up on episodes at the beginning. Nice finale here, featuring a terrific, Guffman-esque bargain basement production that makes High School Musical look like…well…a high school musical. Bringing back the Dayman (aa-AA-aa) song (and Dennis’ spandex) was a risk, but they gang definitely brings it to the next level.

7:15 PM, on a Friday, and Charlie enters the bar with a mound of papers, announcing that he has written a musical called "The Nightman Cometh," based on his song "Dayman" (aa-AA-aa) from last season. He assigns parts to the gang, but Frank wants to do his part naked, Mac wants to add blocking to show off his karate skills, and Dee and Dennis end up playing lovers, which makes the kissing and embraces awkward. It’s all really another scam to ingratiate Charlie with The Waitress, and in true Sunny fashion, it all backfires. The confrontation looks like a gay romp, Dee’s romantic song makes her sound like a pedophile, and Frank’s singing can’t draw the distinction between "the boy’s soul" and "the boy’s hole."

High points include Dee’s "I’m not a Pedophile" song, ad-libbed during the performance, the confused, elderly accompanist, and Charlie’s suit during the surprise ending.

So as I look back over this season, here are the three episodes that stand out as the best:

    1. The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell
    2. Paddie’s Pub: The Worst Bar in Philadelphia
    3. The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis
