So, what happens when you mix an empty boutique, one rebellious teen and Peyton’s wedding dress in progress? Nothing good. Elsewhere, Lucas is pursued by a producer who wants to turn his first book into a movie. Brooke continues to take baby steps with Owen. Itty, bitty, tiny baby steps. Mouth is on the verge of screwing everything up big time. Nathan continues with Slamball and gets slammed around. A lot.

I’d like to be a broken record for a minute and keep on saying that Slamball seems like the worst idea on the planet for Nathan. I just hope this turns into something better and fast. He’s got major bruises all over him and I can’t see Slamball being a good idea for anyone, let alone Nathan. It’s like basketball but violent like hockey, on trampolines, without the protective gear. Bad plan! I have to say I loved the dynamic in the opening scene with nearly everyone there watching Nathan play.

Lucas debates whether or not to option his book and suddenly, the second half of the season comes into focus. A movie in a TV show. It’s not a bad idea but I don’t know if it’s a good one. Meanwhile, Peyton spends time with non-psycho Derek and she plans to do what their father didn’t, put on a USO show. She returns to Tree Hill just in time to run into the producer, who she knows quite well. Yikes. It seems like Peyton is getting another stalker. I’m sure it’ll just be blackmail city but still, it’s not good.

I like Sam, I do. I can’t believe she didn’t have any reservations about taking Jamie to a party. Sure, it’s one she apparently threw in Brooke’s store that resulted in the utter destruction of Peyton’s wedding dress but Sam’s not all bad. I think she would have hesitated before sneaking out and taking him with her. The situation with Sam makes me wonder how many times the writers are going to make her screw up before they give her a chance to grow a bit. Her character bounces between “Screw you. I don’t need anyone” and “Everyone gives up on me. I’m sorry for what I did.” There needs to be more of an in between like what we saw in the earlier part of this episode with her skateboarding in the store and in Brooke’s house. Come on, writers. Please let Sam out.

Mouth continues to be harassed by his intern and ex, Gigi, who keeps calling him Sexy, no matter who is around. Millicent notices at the Slamball game and makes sure he knows he’s got a good thing with her. Yeah, you do, Mouth. Don’t be an idiot. I’m so afraid he’s going to mess this up and I don’t even see why. Gigi is annoying and that’s an understatement. I don’t understand how she can think what she’s doing is okay. She is bringing out the Brooke Davis in Millie, which is a great look on her.

This episode had a lot of cute moments, like Millicent and Haley in Clothes Over Bros, trying to get Brooke to think about Owen. Then there was Nathan, Brooke and Haley giving suggestions as to who should play them in the movie. And we can’t forget Haley telling Lucas she and Nathan have the house to themselves for a night. Lucas keeps singing porn theme music to Haley, who insists she’s just going to write music and take a bath. On her way out, she caves in and joins in on the singing. I think my favorite was Nathan bringing Owen over to see Brooke and Brooke telling Nathan to tell Owen to stop acting like he’s in third grade.

The cute moments seemed really special in this episode. All of the actors seemed really tired for some reason and the cute touches worked well with the tiredness. It was a nice touch considering all of the drama that’s a-brewin’. It is One Tree Hill after all. So what did you think? Tell me your TwoCents in the comments!
