Previously, Elle got kicked off of Heroes. Do you think that showing her in the preview could mean that she's going to be in the episode? Let's watch! By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet, Entertainment Weekly features Heroes on its cover. The article harps on how to improve on what has been a lackluster season thus far, so pick it up to see what the rest of the critics are saying. Now, let’s recap us an episode.

Hiro and Ando are still with African Isaac in the desert. Hiro does not want to go back in time again and stop the villains, even though he was the bored one who wanted a quest. African Isaac makes that yummy paste again that apparently contains hyena poop. After Hiro eats it, his eyes go all milky white as he descends into the Spirit World.

Back at the loft, the Fly is trying to justify to Nathan and Tracy everything that he’s done to the people wrapped in cocoons. He really just makes himself sound worse, so he grabs Maya and jumps through a skylight. Nathan and Tracy stick around after calling Noah, and when he shows up with Meredith, (which is awesome) there’s a brief moment of catch up where the Bennet family, Meredith, and certain matters of paternity are explained to Tracy. Nathan is interrupted by a cell phone call, but we’ll get to that in a minute.

At Pinehurst, Peter is handcuffed to a table and yells that he’ll never help his father. Arthur then says that he’s working for the greater good (like we haven’t heard that before) and says that willingly or not, Peter will help. He then tells Peter he’s grounded and walks out. The Fly has shown up with Maya and instead of saying he won’t work for shadowy organizations again, stupidly says that he’ll need test subjects to conduct his research. First test subject: Peter, but after breaking out of Level Five (thanks to dream sequence!Angela’s help), Sylar buys just enough time for Peter to escape. The Fly over powers Sylar and tries to smash his head in before Arthur saves the day, declaring that the only person who can try to kill any of his kids is him.

Instead of running away like he should have, Peter is waiting around Pinehurst to tell Sylar not to believe anything Arthur is saying. It boils down to this: Angela tried to drown Sylar in a bathtub when he was a wee lass and Arthur saved him in the knick of time. Sylar seems to at least partially believe his father and tosses Peter out of a building. He slows him down though so that the seven story fall doesn’t kill him.

Claire and Sandra get home to find the lights flickering and it’s Elle, who has broken in to tell them that she needs help. She has no control over her powers anymore and starts short circuiting. Both Claire and Elle decide that Pinehurst is the answer to their problems; because Claire thinks not feeling pain means something is wrong with her. The new BFFs get on a plane, and in a twist you know is coming, Elle starts freaking out and the electrical disturbance makes the plane take a nose dive. Claire lets Elle sink her powers into her body though, and she absorbs enough to help the plane level out. When they get to Pinehurst, they’re just in time to see Peter crashing through that window and onto the pavement and as Claire runs away with Peter and calls Nathan, Elle goes into Pinehurst to get her power removed.

Claire takes Peter to meet Nathan and Tracy, and in a strange turn of events, Claire hugs Nathan happily. Nathan doesn’t believe that his father is alive, so he wants to storm Pinehurst with the Justice Department. Like that will help. Tracy speaks up and says that she’s been taking a consultant’s fee from Pinehurst for a year, so she may be able to get them in.

After Maya gets her power taken away by Arthur, she’s turning to leave when The Fly finds her and tries to apologize for everything he’s done. Whatever, Mohinder. You wrapped your lady up in a cocoon. I’M PRETTY SURE THAT’S UNFORGIVABLE. She leaves him standing there which is the smartest thing she’s ever done on this show. Also, somehow she has luggage as she’s leaving, but she didn’t show up with anything. Whatever.

Matt decides he’s going to try and find The Fly, but as he’s turning to leave his apartment, Daphne shows up with a gun pointed at him. It turns out, her mission from Arthur is to kill Matt or be killed. To get his point across, he killed Maury when he objected. It’s obvious as Daphne holds the gun that she’s torn, and after she drops the weapon, she apologizes. Matt explains their future again, but she tries to tell him to run instead of waiting for Knox to appear and kill them. Which he does about 10 seconds later. He kills Daphne, and then punches a hole through Matt’s stomach. Awesome! Thank you writers, for taking everyone’s advice and getting rid of characters. Only they didn’t. It turns out that was all an altered state of mind courtesy of Matt’s powers. After they celebrate that they’re still alive, Matt decides he needs to go to Primatech Paper to find help. Daphne places a super secret phone call to Arthur saying that Matt totally believes that she’s on his side. To her credit, she does look conflicted.

So, what did you think? I realized during this episode that I have a huge crush on Zachary Quinto, I’ll tell you that. How do you all feel about The Fly/Mohinder? I was just starting to like him when it turns out he didn’t even really kill Maya. Leave me lots of comments, email me your Two Cents!

  2. I got my hopes up, what, 4 times last night thinking that characters were going to be killed off & the plot would advance faster. Unless Maya is actually GONE ~ nothing ended up changing. Oh wait, Matt's dad. Forgot about him. Oops.

I love the show but seriously, they need to thin the heard here. It's just getting hard to have a good story line when you have over 10 characters to worry about & write for. Kill off a few, let Daddy steal their powers, whatever. Just make the show move faster with fewer plots to keep track of. Oye!!

Oh, Mohinder's "Fly" story? Yeah, that can be done already mkay? That one is just nasty!
